  • "Four-Corner Parry"

Can anyone perhaps give me a detailed breakdown of the two versions of the Four-Corner Parry? You know, the versions in which you hit with the front hand or hit with the rear hand.

If I'm not mistaken in what you're asking for:

    1. Tan sao-palm up arm at a 45 degree angle with the hand not really past the shoulder
    2. goang sao-low outer wrist block/parry, rotate your arm downward in a semi circle from the tan sao position and you should be in the right position(keep slight bend in your elbow)
    3. woang pak-high slap block/parry
    4. ha woang pak-same thing but done low

you can do these with either hand to either the inside or outside of the puncher's arm so you have 16 variations altogether excluding the other defensive tools(bil sao, toy sao, etc.)
