So I heard that in the Batman episode where the Green and Kato met Batman and Robin, the writers originally had Robin put the beat-down on Kato; however Bruce Lee wouldn't have it, so they had to re-script it and had them fight to a draw.

Now, about TKD stepping side kick, it is used, but since it's very linear, it should be used only when you know you have an exacting hit. Sometimes, a jump is put in there to add more power.

Woooah, some secret? I believe it was master Jhoon Rhee who taught Bruce Lee how to kick with effectivness to add to his leg work from wing chun. The only secret about Bruce's art is that he takes all important components of other arts to better himself, it wasn't much of a spiritual journey.

And the final whip of the leg into the target. Each step isolated and and then added to the whole kick to make a faster and more efficient kick. As your insight have understood bruce knew what exercises and method of getting result to produce final kick.

yeah If you land it fine then getting back in the stance is easy. I was more thinking like if its deflected to some degree or the person side steps, or blocks or whatever. Then getting back into your on guard position would be hard to do before the other person followed up.
If you land, it then all is good because it can be a damn hard kick.
"Then your doin it slow."
I am, but I am still a novice
