With all due respect, that is your opinion but you support it so strongly as it would be fact. Here is some facts to go by....Bruce Lee was about self preservation (whatever took someone out) NOT competition. Sorry, but here's my opinion... > Bruce Lee would have tore him up on the street level. As for the ring fight with rules...Benny would have a chance.

    2cents here = )

As well as having fought a Death Match in Hong Kong & beaten 4 World Class Muay Thai Kickboxers.
Now thats only a small bit of information regarding Benny Urquidez.
Lets face it Bruce Lee was a good Instructor & Martial Artist yet he would have been seriously beaten up had he entered the ring against Benny Urquidez who fought in real Kickboxing Competions as opposed to the Movies & a few minor street encounters. Phillip Holder against Benny The Jet Urquidez I cant wait. Hope its a Deathmatch. And maybe we can send Phillip Holder Flowers at his funeral LOL.
      Regards Phillip.
He also had his ass whooped many times by Muay Thai fighters, he wasnt that great at all when he went up against them

Not really the topic but I think Bruce would have taken down the jet pretty easily. He had so much power behind everything he did. Look at any clip of him hitting a heavy bag. For a small guy he throws an 80 lber around like its nothing, not to mention his speed.

Its a stupid argument though. Nothing will ever bring bruce back to life so any vs threads are sorta useless.

It's really not that stupid when you consider that kickboxing in the USA was crap compared to what was going on in Holland and Thailand at the time. Rather than face reality, American promoters arranged fights between karate men and crowned them world champions of kickboxing. Well, when kickboxing finally met Muay Thai, it was a rude awakening... Needless to say, everyone is doing Muay Thai, or some form of it today, and no one is doing karate-style kickboxing.

The guys Benny the Jet fought were merely karate men, groomed by karate's doctrine of hypothetical BS. When The Jet finally faced Muay Thai, he was overwhelmed, and to top it off, it wasn't even Thailand's best. The story goes that when Benny the Jet went to see Noy "golden leg" Warawoot Pudpad train, Jet made a hasty retreat and didn't want any of that... So he chose to fight lesser known fighters.

Dan Inosanto once pointed out that Benny would've given Lee a tough fight. And he said he made that observation, not from supposed won or lost BennyThai fights clips, but from his own observations of both Lee and Benny. Though he also said Benny would not've been able to afford taking too many hits by Bruce, given Lee's astounding power. Inosanto, one of the most well known, highly respected, highly traveled martial artists in the world has also said that he's yet to meet anyone faster than Lee, and that he doubts there will ever be anyone with ALL of Lee's fighting attributes in one person; that, referring to Bruce's total package as a martial artist, "God must've broken the mold when he made Bruce." JKD... keep flowin, keep blastin...

              re

The jury is still out on Holder, and he has not been that public in recent years. I read that he was in Canada.
As far as Benny goes, he was certainly one of the top kickboxers, up there with Rick Roufus, Maurice Simth, etc. But, like Rickson Gracie, Benny's claim to a lifetime undefeated record is B.S. The only undefeated claims never refuted were Marciano's (becaue it is true) and the claim that
              the Godhand
              Mas Oyama was 270-0.
Don;t know how to prove or disprove that.
But benny did lose at least one time, as did most or all of the Gracies.
I admire Royce as much as any fighter ever, but I wonder how the Gracies can claim that he didn't really lose to Matt? Or to the gracies' finally accept the loss?
