okay, basically, i defend myself pretty well in street fights, but i never try to attack. i think it's because i'm too intimidated. i know how to take a guy down, but in an actual situation, i don't do anything but block. what can i do?

- The guy who attacks first usually has the edge.
- The bigger, stronger guy usually has the edge (if he attacks first).
So what have we learned?
- Attack first (without warning, if possible)
- Attack to create an opening to flee
So now that you understand what REAL street fighting is about, hope you stay outta trouble. We got enough troubled-delinquents out there.

okay....that sort of helped.
thanks for the tips, but they're more like turf fights, not school yard fights.
if fact, i'm not even in school right now. the punks in this town mess with anyone they can, because there's usually 3-7 of them in one spot.
i'm not a delinquent by the way, and i'm not looking for trouble. but in this town, you need to know that kind of thing.

Spend time with your partners training with rubber knives, rubber handguns, and wiffle bats. Visualize defending against real blades, guns, & clubs.
Take an FMA class if u can.
Once you are ready to defend unarmed against weapons, any fight with a single unarmed man will seem trivial.
If you get into a street fight, make darn sure that your opponent is not an off-duty cop.
