I've had a chance to work with Tommy at my house and in Scotland. He hits hard and fast. He's the real thing, a JKD'er who can actually do it.

Nice! he looks effective, Most of the guys I see doing JKD dont look effective, he is. Good speed and timing. I would liek to train with him. No videos actually spar and train. If anyone knows when he would be coming to the west coast, let me know. Take care

Yea, his stuff looks like it can whoop someones ass but if he really could, then he would have MMA fights on his video. To tell you the truth, this guy couldnt last against an average Muay Thai/BJJ fighter or even a Boxer/Wrestler. By the way, his rapid hand motion would never even effectively strike a boxer or muay thai guy and he would then get quickly knocked out. And Im sure this guy has no ground game whatsoever, so hes then not even a complete fighter which is essential in modern MMA comp. and street fighting!
I love these kind of people. They always assume they know what would happen in all the situations, you have a crystal ball of some sort?

What are you two years old or something? You know nothing about the guys background, what makes you sure he doesn't have a ground game (JKD was MMA before it was popular and it has ground work), most JKD practicitioners (like Dan Inosanto) learn other arts (such as BJJ) to become more rounded fighters. Not everyone cares to do sport fighting styles, only a complete moron would think that the best fighters in the world are those who compete (some people want to spend their lives getting their brains pounded into pudding and others of us have better stuff to do). Get off Pride/UFC's shlongs and go read a book, you douche.

You're hilarious! I think Mr. Tackett has a better idea of his skillz than you do.

You violate the first rule of ANY FIGHT with your ridiculous post. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE a fighter. You probably never heard of that one, eh?

You also ASSUME a lot about a guy you've never met... You need a deep dish of Humble pie... (That's the nice way of saying I hope someone kicks your ass)

                      About Tommy Carruthers:
Tommy Carruthers has over 30 years experience in the martial arts which includes training in military self-defence techniques (taught to him by his father), Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Karate, boxing, Ving Tsun (four years with Nino Bernardo's clan), Non-Classical Gung Fu and finally Jeet Kune Do. Whilst training in western boxing, Tommy made something of a name for himself and became the subject of several tempting offers to turn professional. "But still to Tommy, even though he seemed to excel in boxing, it was not JKD." (taken from Fighters Magazine, July 1997).

Way to go looking like a dumbass, Mmafighter..

I understand where you're coming from, but there's a lot to a fight, MMAfighter.

I knocked a guy down and out (allthough not unconscious) during his prep fight for MMA and he had a pretty good amateur record. At the same time, I've gotten beat into the purple haze kalaidescope and tapped out by lots of other guys who are at that level too or better.

Good that you train hard, but there's allways someone better.
