And on top of that, bashing someone because someone wants to use the label of " JKD "? JKD is a philosophy without structure, therefore it is not against it's nature to use that label as long as individual expression is dominant. May I remind you, Jeet Kune Do is a total contradiction; " Having no way as way....."

You are certainly NOT someone I would want to train with, as you have completely forgotten the foundation of martial arts philosophy: RESPECT.

The man was annoying me and talking down to me, so I thought I might tell him to eat a dick. Metaphorically speaking. He didn't understand that saying 'eat a dick' is, in this case, a metaphor for 'I don't like you and I don't like the way you talk to me'. The subtleties of the English language are lost to some. So he starded going on about how he's not gay so he doesn't want to suck my dick, but he said it in a fancy way, like "I cordially decline the offer of your anatomy", or something like that.

It's a perfectly natural way of expressing oneself. I can't be bothered arguing about what JKD is or isn't, I've had enough of these arguments on this board, and nobody learns anything or convinces the other that they are right or wrong.

But right then I happened to be angry about the fact that people were trying to digitally recreate Bruce Lee, which is what THIS THREAD IS ABOUT.

But JKDMAN said I was being too vulgar and that he was forced to step down from his 'plateau' in order to clean up my 'mess' so that other people wouldn't step in my 'mess'. So I told him to eat a dick up, it's as simple as that. Because he thinks he's an intellectual, trying to play word games. So why should I play his game?

Has nothing to do with testosterone, I just want to get him a little bit annoyed. And he's religious too, which is a disgrace for somebody who claims to have been enlightened by Bruce Lee's teachings.

Ok....since we're getting back to the subject at hand......

I think the idea is beyond insulting to Sigung Lee. A computer cannot give today's generation that which Lee's original films gave. On screen, he radiated his essence, and a computer cannot replace that. I can see the point behind it ( which is to bring Lee to today's generation ), BUT it is a moot point, because it'll only be a face and a name portrayed, not the spirit of the Dragon. For the life of me, I cannot understand why Linda and Shannon would agree to this.

I do understand what a metaphor is; what I do *not* understand is why you feel the need to express yourself so vulgarly, and with such little use of the brain God gave you. This makes you look like a fool. I am not talking down to you as much as trying to get you to think and analyze what you say before you say it. This is a very good practice, not only in posting, but in everyday life. For if one shoots off at the mouth too much, one is bound to be hit by one's own bullets. As for your comment towards my fiancee, all I will say is please take the joke for what it was, and leave her out of this. I posted in fun, in part to make you think, and in part to make you laugh. A lot of different people got the joke. I am sorry if you did not. I just feel there are more eloquent and expressive ways to say what one truly feels than to say "Eat _____" or "Suck whatever." This makes you look stupid, and makes the forum as a whole lose integrity. Please ponder carefully each word you post when posting on a forum that is designed to reflect on martial arts and those who take them. If you believe that Christianity is a religion (a list of "Do and do nots"), which is what Bruce was referring to, you are mistaken. It is a relationship with Christ that asks simply to love all. In no way does this blockade one's path to the truth. Instead, it frees one up to discover the depth of truth.

if its a means of putting food on the table - whats the big deal - it might even be a good movie. In case you have notice JKD is a philosophy that is being sold on a regualar basis. Most JKD schools charge ridiculous amounts of money for training and forget about the seminars. Bottom line is America is a capitalist economy - and everything is for sale.

Geez, I'm not used to seeing these kinds of flame wars on this JKD forum. Usually things are pretty tame.

JKDman, Monkey was angered about the concept of bringing Bruce back, and was just expressing that anger in his way. He probably really didn't mean anything by it but was mad none the less. He's got that right.

However, Monkey, JKDman did have a point in saying that you should find out just what the storyline might be, etc. It could be something that Bruce would have just loved, but of course you can't really say anything since he's not around. Though I tend to agree it doesn't need to be made.
But all the vulgarity and insulting people's wives, religion, etc. isn't necessary either.

Yup yup, everyone's trying to make a buck off of his name. If anything, they should give the profits to charity. But the idea of making a Bruce Lee movie without Bruce Lee is utter garbage, PERIOD. Remember how dedicated and focused he was when choreographing(sp?) the fight scenes in his movies? What we all see in his movies, (his passion, drive, focus, energy, spirit), THAT's JKD or at least an extension of it. That's mind/body/spirit. Hollywood makes me sick.

And in reaction to this flame war i just finish reading: Both Monkey and JKD MAN can say whatever the hell they want just as i'm doing now; it's called Freedom of Expression, something Bruce as well as everyone in this country loves. "Vulgar" things may be said and it happens at all forums, though i didn't feel Monkey was at that level.
I get a feeling JKD MAN takes everything very seriously. He's a serious man. If we all followed what JKD MAN's preaching (all that good stuff about being the best you can be, etc...) we can start a whole new religion! He did start to sound like a preacher Bruce use to say stuff like "just be yourself". Monkey sounds cool to me, but JKD Man sounds like he's "trying" to be something -God's perfect little creature.
Anyway, i still feel that this movie shouldn't be made. I would like to know why Linda approves of it; hear her side. If anything, make another bio movie with interviews of his friends and partners/clips from Bruce's movies and interviews. Maybe focus on his JKD concepts rather than another "timeline" bio. Or have Disney/Pixar(sp) make a dope ass animation!

If I sounded preachy I am sorry. My only point people that know nothing about Martial arts, JKD, or anything of that sort may come here. Many of the New people I know that come here are already real ify on martial arts. They think we are Caveman who do not think we just react and beat people. I refer them here to show them the enlightened, carring side of martial arts that I know. I have no problem with people being pissed off or anything of the sort. I just feel when speaking publicly, such as on this and other related forums. There is a better more positive way to word things then suck my dick. I Do strive to perfect in all I do. I know I will never be so, I am human as we all are. Does that mean I should not strive to educate myself and strive to be the best. No of course not. Self-Perfection people. Always strive to be a postive influence throughout your life. There is too much anger and hate in this world.. I personally see it everday. I am victim to the hate quite often. Words can be very hurtful, so I strive to be postive. Shouldn't we all? I do not want a religion started. I do want those that claim to represent martial arts and JKD to not only strive for the self-preservation but the self-perfection aspect as well. Paul Vunak and Thomas C. Cruse both say that Self-Perfection is the higher aspect of JKD. Self-preservation is just where we start, not where we stop.

Hey Fellas-
New to this forum. I just want to say that I have mixed feelings about this Bruce Lee video. First of all everyone who is against this has a point and I agree with most on certain levels but we also have to appreciate the fact that Bruce is no longer a person, he has become an ICON. this video is just feeding the masses what they need. Much the same way the Elvis impersonators in Vegas give the people who can't forget Elvis something to hold on to. I feel if this video is done in good taste( and I sure it will with Linda and Shannon's ok) it may even spark furthur interest in the philosophy of JKD.

Thanks Ryu for the supportive statement. I appreciate it. I am a serious man, but I do know how to relax. I just was taught by my first sensei to be 110% in all you do. Play hard, Work harder. I am a professional when I work and when I present myself to the public. I only cut loose around certain people. I am a very private and guarded person who demnads the most of myself. I always push myself harder and harder. For those of you do not Know I have a walker and a wheelchair and when I strated martial arts at 5 everyone said Never going to make it. When I started my teaching career evryone who would train with a cripple. My Family turned their back on me and I face alot of obstacles. I say this not for sympothy but to let you guys who I am and why I am such a hardcore believer in pushing myself to the highest levels. Please do not make anything out of my handicap or my belief in presenting the best face possible to the public. This is just what I was taught and how I believe.
