jdog,
You are seriously a tool. No really. Go to a REAL martial arts school for 6mo's to a year and then come back and read your posts. I won't blame you for kicking your own ass. And your friend you keep holding hands with, it's ok just come out we are all adults here.. mostly. Just because you watch pride and UFC doesnt mean you and your backyard buddie (or is it backdoor?) you can fight or understand the moves they perform.

So your attack to beat a BJJ guy is to have him get you into a choke so then you can beat him? What do you do sit down turn around and give it to him? That's pretty ludicrous. People that train well will continue to fight with broken fingers, and you will probably just piss them off more, so they will break more than your fingers.

So, there you have it Jdog. Before this becomes any more of a flame fest, let's review the good advice in this thread:
1) Don't choke out your friends in the backyard - it's dangerous
2) Do go to a grappling gym and learn to roll - if you want to know how
3) If it were that easy to defeat a grappler, grappling wouldn't be everyone would be doing it.
As an aside, if you decide to go with #2, you will get schooled a lot before you get anywhere close to 'schooling' anyone else - so don't get frustrated.

Seriously though, as far as constructive criticism goes - go to a good MMA school. ASK the instructor what you just posted here. There's always the question of "why don't I just do this yada yada". A good instructor will politely answer all your "what if" questions about the validity of any technique in MMA.
Also, please be careful with pulling off those moves "on your own". Remember that submission holds weren't meant to "make the guy tap out" - they're meant to dislocate, break, maim, or even kill someone. You don't want to end up as "that kid" who died in some wannabe backyard UFC thing.

All those wasted years, sweating, and getting hit and thrown and wrenched and kicked and abused and paying beaucoup bucks for the privilege... Why oh why didn't somebody tell me that there was an easier way!!!
