What they train in the military is a whole other argument. Many think that the military make bad choices. The old "they do it in the military so it must be good" is a flawed argument. The military isn't everything its cracked up to be, not by a long way.

Thats worldwide, not just the US or UK.

Not all the military gets horrible training. The Special Forces get excelent training but there about the only people in the military that do.

Good point, it also depends on who is developing the system. One of my instructors was telling me how the army brass was always pushing their favorite "combat" systems at them, most of which didn't take into consideration packs, boots, fatigue, uneven footing. The spec ops groups do alot of their own research and it's very eclectic and very effective.

I dont think u should focus on eye jabs.

I got into a fight last week and tried to eye jab this guys eyes out.

He dodged and I crippled my fingers up, so please keep it simple man.

I heard an argument saying it is hard to hit these vital areas when your aderenaline is high and I think good self defense systems agree give me some feedback.

krav maga is based on simplicity and raw motorics. Everything is to be kept simple and brutal. My view on submisssions is that many of them can work very well on a mat with a fully resisting friendly opponent, but when you get out on the street.. sinking that perfect triangle in, the bastard WILL bite your balls off.. and that isn't too comfortable I have heard..

the street != the ring.. never, ever, never! When I'm at work.. even small situations that i know that i can handle.. I get an adrenaline rush FAR beyond anything i ever get at full contact sparring.. beacause I KNOW that i can't stop.. i KNOW that there is no judge.. and i know that the guy in front of me DO want to hurt me..

yes, you were doing it wrong. If you play with a firearm and you never properly learn gun safety and blow you damn foot off, that doesn't make a pistol a bad choice of a weapon. It means you need to learn the How's, When's and Why's.

LOL, not laughing at you. Slamming your fingers into a persons forehead can be a big problem trying to get an eye jab. A straight-on eye jab, I prefer to leave those for pre-emptive strikes. Try changing your target, don't aim at the eye. Aim at the top of the cheek bone and your fingers will slide right into the eye.
