INside: Now you're contradicting yourself. By your own definition, you stated in your opinion one has to compete to prove his legitimacy as a blackbelt. Your statement of the obvious (bjj history 101) illustrates your self contradiction. I don't see how I'm stupid for pointing out your self-contradiction. Regardless, logical debate is impossible with someone who changes his beliefs with every post to avoid confronting/admitting his own error.

You have continued to dance around my other examples, ones that have never competed in JJ yet are widely recognized as being legit; however by your definition, they are not. Neither are people like Nakai who never competed in JJ prior to receiving blackbelts. (but then again, Carlos Jr., by your definition, is not legitimate and therefore any belt he hands out is not legitimate)

Dear Ober, it's easy to conjur up absurd examples that seemingly contradict most rules. Under the rule of thumb I gave it would be obvious to most readers that Helio would qualify. In fact I'm pretty sure that Helio did roll and beat nearly all-comers in sport JJ and that many of those guys were BJJ Black Belts. There was not much organized sport competition back in those days, however, we do know that Helio had a healthy appetite for both grappling and NHB type bouts.

I still think this is a stupid example. Helio was a great BJJ fighter, why do you argue this point?

        Ober:

The point of this thread is that John Lewis sucks. He's a fake and a phoney. Can you dredge up some contest in a futile effort to lend this bum some credibility? Maybe.

The important thing is though that Lewis sucks as an nhb fighter. He also has no credibility as a bjj fighter. One point victory does not a bjj fighter make. Am I suprrised that Lewis was able to at one time out point a bjj fighters. No. Lewis is one of the best stallers of all time.

Ober, why is this bum so important to you? JOHN LEWIS SUCKS!
