  • Starting Boxing... What to look out for

    Hey people,

I used ot train a bit in Muay Thai months and months back, since I've been at Uni I havcen't done nething, basically theres a small boxing club in town that some of my mates have been too, I'll probably go sometime this week with them. Is there anything I should watch out for or be ready to expect to know if I'm getting half decent training or not lol?

    Thanks,

Chances are you'll be okay at most boxing gyms. I've never trained in Muay Thai myself, but I've seen my share of MT fights. Just don't be throwing elbows and knees in the clinch, which in itself is different.

Many boxing gyms are dedicated to potential fighters, so the average "Joe" goes in to improve aspects of his game by himself. Some people reserve time with an instructor, but a lot of what you learn is from other guys and experimenting. Ofcourse, there's a gym trainer that watches over all activity... But every gym is slightly different.

    Best regards,
    Paul
