"Krav Maga or Jeet Kune Do Concepts"

Just wanted to know what the general consensus is on Krav Maga. Can it compete with JKD as a street fighting system?

From what I heard they do not spar, only various kinds of drills are used in there training. I think the whole thing is based on a belief to ingrain an instinctual response. If this is the case then I question it's actual effectiveness. I could be wrong as the source of the information was questionable. I hope that helps you somewhat.-ED

Krav Maga is used by the Israeli army. I don't know much about it, just that it is supposed to be reasonably effective. Remember, "supposed to be."

I'm just tired to say this, but please trust me:

Neither JKD, nor Krav Maga, nor for that matter each and every "martial art" or "combat system" qualifies itself as "streetfighting". For the VERY SIMPLE REASON that each and every of them lacks the element on which the entire system should be built:

Both are a poor second to Ninjutsu. If I was forced to choose between Krav Maga or JKD I would chhose Krav Maga. At least Krav Maga is proven in real combat where as JKD is nothing more than the pipe dream of a dead actor.
