I am going to change my name to Necessário Frescura, spend a lot of time in a tanning booth, die my hair dark, open Darrianation's school of BJJ (nice ring to huh?) and charge a $100/mo./student- Nah just kidding

Prices are market driven. I haven't seen much BJJ for under 100 a month. If you are the only BJJ in town you can charge whatever you want! In the portland area MA class rates go from 25 a month to around 85 a month. That's what the market bears.

In Renzo's defense The Machado school is only a few dollars less. Also, it does depend on demand and region. NYC is just expensive. The lowest amount that I have paid per/mo is $70 and most schools regardless of style are between $85-$125 per/mo

        Examples:

Boxing gym downtown (wall street area). http://www.nyboxinggym.com/index3.html
        $80 per/mo general memberhip, $155 fullaccess and $225 with a trainer.

        KyokushinHQ in NYC
        One Month: $120
        3 Months: $285
        6 Months: $545
        12 Months: $995

        Judo
$1000.00 for the year if paid upfront or $15 dollars a class
