  • Rebirth of the BJJ Gi Survey

    Greetings All,

Awhile back I filled out a BJJ gi survey by someone from this forum but never saw the results. Later, I saw a post that said the info. was erased so I was inspired to create another version. I added and changed some questions to increase the scope of the survey. I would like to re-invite forum members to participate in a survey about BJJ gis. It doesn't require you to register or enter any personal information and emails aren't recorded.

If you get the chance please vote (only once) for your favorite products as your answers will help both new and vetern BJJer's, manufacturers, and retailers alike. This survey will be available for one month (possibly longer) and then the results will be posted on a site for members to view.*

You can locate the survey at:*

    Thanks!

    Kabuki

create survey accounts last only for 90 days or so then all the info is gone!

A unfortunate part of their system is the time limit, however I plan to upload the stats to a website I'm working on when the survey is completed so it will continue to be available after the account has expired. I may extend the time limit of the survey depending on people's response.

I tried other survey sites but liked their set-up the best. Thanks for the warning though!

For the people who don`t like Atama gis, I`m wondering what their reasons are. I`m currently gi-shopping and I am seriously considering Atama`s gold weave.

I was wondering that too Aseepish. I expected Ouano or Krugans to be at the top of the dislike category. I personally do not own any Atama's (I'm not a fan of skirts) but I do have one Atama horror story. I was at a tournament a few years ago and I was watching another match going on. One of the guys had a pretty new Atama on when it ripped straight down the back during the match. Definitely weird.

I actually started with a Krugans Tribal because I really liked the patchwork. But I will tell you, and many people will agree, Howard Combat Kimonos are the BEST gi you can buy. They're not cheap, but they're worth it. Gameness isn't too far behind.

I have a Gameness and a Howard. The Gameness is good, but HCK's are the best in my opinion in terms of quality and toughness of fabric.

i like my Keiko Raca and MKimonos goldweaves in this order. My coach wears a Atama and is now looking to buy a Keiko Raca after getting a feel of my gi. It fits slim/athletic and is much more comfortable/softer and just as durable.

I also have a HCK standard single but its too baggy in the pants and sleeves but it is a good gi but it doesn't fit my body type as well as the other two. It's a heavy duty gi and very well made but not to my liking.

I was thinking about getting a Kimonos Fighter (KF) gi--anyone have any experiences with that brand? From the pictures I can't tell if it has a skirt like Atama or is one piece?
