"It was about that time I realized that searching was my symbol, the emblem of those who go out at night with nothing in mind, the motives of a destroyer of compasses." -Cortázar
I heard recently that the Brazilian senate is considering a bill to make samba the official musical style of Brazil, outlawing all other forms of music, including classical orchestral music, opera, rock, oldies, punk, jazz, bebop, salsa, guajira, country, folk, Indian sitar and the recorded sounds of whales (presented as a music style). The bill includes fairly strict guidelines to determine what may qualify as samba. An opposition bill has also been submitted for a vote which promotes the official adoption of the entire discography of Depeche Mode.
Less concerned about fitting into the world

(no it doesn't really matter anymore)
None of this really matters anymore

Yeah, Brazilians love listening to this music a lot. I have a few Brazilian friends, and they listen to buy beats a lot. They think this type of music gives them the energy they need, and I think that's a good thing.
You would have to ask a brazilian to answer that. I think they are more into salsa and for that I recommend wah pedals for metal to fully enjoy the music. You are gonna like my recommendation so do consider it.
