  • Purple/Brown or Black Belts in Houston Texas

    Hello All,
I'm new to this forum as well as BJJ. I am 36 years old in Houston Texas. I currently take Hapkido with my son who is close to getting his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
I am very interested in BJJ. I have visited a couple schools and for various reasons, times of classes, distance from work, money, etc. I am unable to take classes. I have however purchased some dvd'd and books on BJJ and my son and I have started practicing together. We have a couple of other people that have expressed interest in meeting with us regularly to learn and pratice together.
So my question is, is there and purple/Brown or Black belts that would be willing to give a group private lessons once a month or so? This way you can see how we are progressing, give us things to focus and work on over the next month and down the road award us belts when we are ready?
All responses would be greatly appreciated.

I can help you if you like. I am a BJJ Black Belt under Carlos Machado. I have several people who I train on a regular basis via private lessons only who are in a similar predicament as you. One student travels all the way from Del Rio to take private lessons and get guidance.

And there's Leonardo Xavier on the opposite side of Houston (in Sugarland). Also a blackbelt. Also a fantastic teacher and coach. You can read up on him and his BJJ career at www.leonardoxavier.com

PM me if you want to come to a class sometime.

        Thanks!

I have read about LX when I was doing a search on BJJ schools in Houston. I am in Northwest Houston so it is a little bit of a trek for me but if I am evr headed that way I will. Thanks again!
