Robin Hood - I don't mean to sound harsh, but what's wrong
with a guy who doesn't train with conventional methods beating a guy that trains day-in, day-out, eats right, etc?
Just because Vovchancyn doesn't look like an elite athlete, doesn't mean he isn't as strong as an ox, or as swift as a deer. He obviously trains the way he feels is best for him. If what he does WORKS, what different should it make HOW he does it?
I learned years ago that the way an athlete looks on the outside really has nothing to do with how he/she will perform in an endeavour. Case in point is the Mexicans in boxing. I have nothing against Mexicans whatsoever, but I used to wonder how the heck a boxer with a beer-looking belly, flat chest, small arms and skinny legs could beat (knock out) another boxer that had a very muscular build, the washboard abs, a ripped chest & shoulders, deep cuts in his back, huge arms and thick legs. And I saw this time and time again. Not just with Mexican fighters, but others as well. It happens all the time. And just because an athlete doesn't have the CHARLES ATLAS physique, really doesn't mean he hasn't trained like a madman. I've learned this through watching different sports, not just boxing or NHB events. I always used to pride myself on having a muscular build, and training hard when I boxed, but I got beat by guys that looked like they didn't train a day in their lives. And, on the flip-side of the coin, I got beat by guys that were more GIFTED LOOKING than I, with respect to their physical build. After awhile, I never used to get nervous staring across the ring at my opponent who had bigger arms, or a better set of abs, or more striations in his legs than I. It means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I've seen guys with the Charles Atlas physique get beat time and time again at either boxing or wrestling.
You mentioned that Coleman beat Vovchancyn with illegal knees to the head - but if Coleman didn't use the knees, do you believe he still would have won? (you mentioned that Coleman "handled" Vovchancyn, but that Kerr could not, but then you go on to say that Coleman used illegal knees - how is this "handling him"?)
I just think (and I sure as do alot of others) that Vovchancyn is really the REAL DEAL, and he has proved that, and he will continue to prove it. He also has proved that a guy who has a big gut and as you mentioned "doesn't train very hard", can beat the HUGE, RIPPED, HARD-TRAINING athletes out there. LOOKS MEAN SQUAT.

      Ronnie.

Alan: What I meant on needing body fat was that he probably eats foods that contribute to it. In extremely harsh environments this will help your body insulate itself. I do believe that where he lives probably does have a lot to do with it.
Of course, I could be wrong...

troll's lover: whoever you are, you are doing a good service. Robin hood has trouble connecting thoughts and ideas together. From his current and past posts, he's either a moron or a true troll. I can't tell yet...
