Oh so true...however green is a horrible color for a Gi...( white sux if you train in the grass) we didnt have the blue option in the 70's (last time i wore a gi) I had to join the navy to get a blue uniformOriginally posted by Tant01Yeah cool....

Black is not good if you work out or train outside the Dojo. When the sun is out and it's 95 degrees in the shade you'll wish your ninja costume was white.

The message behind a black Gi, is that your art is a war art. I've never seen or heard of a school that did not, at some degree, allow a black gi. I guess they can exist. However usually you have to have some experience and be of a higher belt rank to wear a black gi. Also, even inside, a black gi makes you sweat more. I know one teacher that wont allow students to wear black gis until he knows that physically they are fit enough to deal with the extra heat.To this day Traditional Japanese and Okinawan tournaments will not allow the wearing of a "Black Gi"
