I don't know about that Judo comment! I've been in BJJ for about 5-6 years now and I was tapping Judo Blackbelts when I was still a white belt! But then again I've seen some pretty good Judo players who've trained in BJJ. IMHO BJJ is still the best path for learning to roll with the Gi on.

Unless you want to enter the olympics or Ippon-Seoinage your opponent as he throws a big right hand at you. Judo still has the best training for throwing a guy with a Gi on.

You might try John Ramirez who is a 4th degree purple belt under Rodrigo Medeiros, he is a very patient instructor and has reasonable prices....about $5 a class. John takes the time to go over every move in detail and answers your questions without making you feel intimidated or stupid. He teaches on Mon, Weds, Fri, and Sundays.

      Check out it out http://www.ouano.com/losangelesbjj/

I am already taking judo. I just started it a few months ago. But I also want to learn BJJ. Is it a good idea to cross train with judo and BJJ if I have only just started Judo?
