      Here is the review.

All it was,was a replay of the greatest UFC knockouts.

This show was completely one sided.I would say that the only spokesman for NHB on there was F.Shamrock.And even he downed NHB.He said the most a pro makes is 2,000 to show up and 2,000 to win.It was obvious that the only NHB MSNBC knows is the UFC.

First, they showed fight clubs among freinds with 2 teens taking the fights to the road and 1 guy slammed this other on his head.Even though they like NHB,they are giving it a bad name.

Futhermore, the announcer said "Where do these teens get their violint rage?Well, look no further than the Ultimate Fighting Championship." They made UFC fighters look like Blood thirsty animals. "The object of the Ultimate Fighting Competitor is to do one thing and one thing only, knock his opponent unconcious onto the mat." Only later on to say to choke or submitt his opponent. They even grouped Pro Wrasslin' with NHB!!!

Meanwhile they did a whole bio on Frank. They said and I quote "No man has risked his life or limb more than Frank Shamrock." I laughed my ass off.

They even portraid the fans (Us) as more blood thirsty than they are!

      FLOOD THE EMAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Just finished

Not really sure what to think about the show. I suppose that compared to some of the other shows it was more fair to the UFC in particular.

I didn't like the fact that it put the UFC in the same category with that wrestling crap but at least they gave the UFC supporters fair time to present their views.

One portion I wanted to comment to you all about though was when Eddie Goldman mentioned the emasculation of males in our society and their need to have some sort of male outlet and then they cut to this LTC Peabody, or whoever, who said "that is bullcrap". Who the hell was that guy???

I don't know what army he was in but I think Eddie G was right on the money. I have seen young privates in the army, shy away from combatives training (which in our division is basically BJJ) because they got hit! Here is a young 18 yr old that joined the army for college money, went into the infantry and now doesn't want to get hit!! Holy shit!!!
Is that the kind of warrior spirit we are fostering? Apparently. I think it is disturbing!

Anyway, I thought it was at least more objective than the Fox Files show.

PS- I guess the first segment answered one of my other posts about the suplex! HA!

Really do not like people grouping NHB with Pro-wrestling.
That makes me angry. Which is another reason I don't like some of the amateur NHB shows throwing out free rental coupons of pornography places, etc (forgot where I read it, but was in a MMA magazine)

I really want reality combat to be seen as a noble thing, and the fighters as strong, noble individuals.

          sigh....

Oh well. Back to reading judo books tonight
and some playstation. LOL, I'm enjoying my break from studies.

At least this report wasn't sensationalistic or biased. It confused the audience though by putting in the pro-wrassling shit, but the point of the report was violence and the rise of fight clubs, the UFC, and pro-wrassling.

It did show the UFC as having rules (Big John going over the rules the night before the event) and fighters winning by submission, not just by knockout.

Talking about F. Shammy as someone who's put it on the line more than anyone else was hilarious. It just goes to show, of all the mainstream press reports on MMA, this one was the most balanced to date, and they still don't quite get it right.

That was a cool show. I liked it when they showed that suckerr getting droped on his head, I was pissed when he didnt get brain damage. That wAs funny.
And I liked the staple gun dude as well. I hope they show it again. That was the best.

I came away with the impression that they believe that MMA is bad for society, creates and encourages violence. I thought it was pretty bias. They can never appreciate seeing Martial athletes displaying their prowess in their given art.

Igarta, you're right that the show's point was that MMA and pro-wrestling encourage violence among people, especially young people.

But this is an opinion and a particular point of view that can't be proven right or wrong. This is like saying pornography encourages rapes and sexually deviant behavior. Hard to prove or disprove one way or the other.

I thought the show was pretty balanced when it came to portraying MMA, or the UFC. At least they talked about rules, and actually showed a rules meeting with Big John the night before the event. I saw nothing sensationalistic about their portrayal, and they gave supporters and dissenters time to state their point of view.

Although I'm a big MMA fan, I can understand that most of society think it's violent and even barbaric.

I think that one thing that may come of it is that now with the UFCs shift towards being a legitimate sport, I think that came off well and we may see an increase in viewership just from the exposure of that documentary.

Even McCain has let up on the UFC since the rule changes. So, without all the badmouthing, any press is good press.

Well other than the biased oppinions andgrouping it with Pro Wrasslin',sometihng else that pissed me off was the way that they talked about the UFC."The goal of the Ultimate fighter is to do one thing and that is to knock his opponent out cold"

Then even when they talked about chokes and submission they acted like the person was going to die.

"The Ultimate fighter can also win by choking him to the point of unconsious,or applying enough pressure to a limb that it breaks"

And John Macain(?) can kiss my ass (____)(____)
"This is on the level of a cocktail fight only using humans." I wounder why they didnt include boxing in this. Why,cause they wear fat gloves? Isnt there like 360 deaths in Boxing and only 1 in NHB.I think that the one was in Russia.

Then they totally crapped on Dan Severns Interview making him make the UFC look bad.

Then Frank Shamrock saying that you only make 2k for showing and 2k to fight.Wasnt he pais uppwards of 80k for the Tito fight?

Crap like this is why MMA will never be able to catch on to a mainstream public. No,we cant have clean,MMA matches that are fair and stuff, but we can have blood, cursing, killing, ect. on the WWF.Shouldnt it be other way around ttt

Maybe it is my own bias but it seemed to me that the segment on UFC shown AFTER the pro-wrestling segment made the UFC look like what it has become...a sport. The fighters all looked uniform and highly conditioned.

I didn't like the part where the showed Mo Smith's fight and the guy said, "a slugfest with little grace" All I could think was, too bad they didn't show a different fight. But the clips of the Shamrock/Ortiz fight, I thought, did the sport justice.
