Yea i have heard that they are now accepting chainsaw skills as a valid MA in MMA these days. Very effecient for stopping nasty kickers, especially if there alot taller you can really bring them down to size

Shame they're not allowing hadokens, sonic booms and other general balls of chi yet. Otherwise that kid who posted that he could make sparks like raiden could be the new champ

I was rolling around the floor when i read this.

It reminded me of the bit in Napoleon Dynamite with the time machine.

'WAIT! you forgot to put the crystals in.'

It seems to me that the MMA world is constantly adapting, to beat whichever way of fighting is succcessful at the time. I was just wondering what do people think the next big revalation on how to fight will be?

Or do you think the sport has evolved as far as it can go?

Are there any revolutionary fighters at the moment who look ready to set a new trend?

Will some one soon show us how effective aerial attacks, flashy kicks, pressure points, open hand strikes can be??

              What are your thoughts.....

BJJ is a science, it cannot be defeated when applied correctly. Whatever the new ways, BJJ as the ground or anything very similar has to be the ground tool. What else can one do on the ground? How many ways to escape the mount, get the mount., control the side, etc....these things are the basics that wont change., takedowns, etc, throws. It comes down to someone making a mistake or being just a little slower in applying a move or strike that determines the best from the 2nd best.

When is BJJ not a science it can not be defeated when applied correctly?
What is that?Quite a lot of things. Not as many as you might think.
Try saying that with more or less context.Which ones?
What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.It depends on what the meaning of the word "it" is.

How can you respond before I even finished writing the post, wierd? How to escape a RNC, or a armbar, or any finishing move when it is sunk deep? There are only so many ways to get out of things, no magically new martial art is going to change someones arm from snapping, Avoid the takedown is the best for starters

The only next big thing has been BJJ, MT never was, it's just that the MT fighters had to learn the game of the BJJ people to avoid it
If people haven't learned the game of wrestling/GNP yet, they haven't been paying much attention

There won't be a next big thing, graplers will learn stricking to better set up the takedown ( less and less will fall for a shoot without it) and strikers will learn grapling to be able to escape it and turn it in a GNP for them self

Fighters will become mre and more like my favorite Bas Rutten, adapting all the time ( and learning the interesting techniques of your last opponent)

Also take overs will become more ingenious, we will have to rerun tapes over and over to see how one fighter escapes a submission attempt to turn it in the finnishing submission ( see this already happening in Pride)

I have to agree. They will learn to fuse different systems together while testing it out in sparring/grappling.
