No kidding! Thanks though....I'm bad about the Ju, mad about the Ju, whatever you like to call it. It's all Judo to me....

The funny thing is (kinda) I voted for Gracie and I still hope he chokes Matt unconscious or makes him tap out... It's a thing of beauty.

But then I like it the other way too, Hughes can break Gracie's Jaw and knock him out cold in the opening seconds... That might bleed...

    • The only way Matt can win is with GNP. I don't think Matt has the skills to knock Royce out on his feet. Maybe he can GNP him unconscious, but he'll never whip a sub on him.

      • Just give it a little tappy....just a little tap.......tap, tap, tap-a-roo

        Judo chop!

          • I dunno. Its impossible to see the future and we all make mistakes in judging outcomes of fights (IE: Chuck v Randy...?). I think Matt may try to keep it a standup fight and use his takedown defence to beat on Royce, who knows, all I know is I'll have someone tape it.

oh did that say Judo champions or Jiu jitsu??? i cant tell????

heres something else for you ..

"judo (jū'dō) , sport of Japanese origin that makes use of the principles of jujitsu, a weaponless system of self-defense. Buddhist monks in China, Japan, and Tibet developed jujitsu over a period of 2,000 years as a system of defense that could be used against armed marauders and yet would not be in conflict with their religion. Jigoro Kano, a Japanese jujitsu expert, created judo (1882) by modifying or dropping many holds that were too dangerous to be used in competition. It depends for success upon the skill of using an opponent's own weight and strength against him, thus enabling a weak or light individual to overcome a physically superior opponent."

              Jiu Jitsu.....then Judo.....Got it????

Judo is simply a safer adaptation of jiu jitsu...
and as for Kimura and helio...dont speak about history unless you know what you are talking about. the "key lock" as it was known before Kimura broke Helios arm was used in Jiu jitsu for thousands of years before Kimura used it....the Brazillians are the ones that gave it his name out of respect.

              anything else for me jack-off?

I know you're really enjoying yourself trying to sound smart and all, but even in Renzo Gracies book Mastering Jiujitsu, he goes over the lineage of his families art. And guess what, he seems to think that the guys who taught his family were judoka. I'm not going to put specific words in quotes because I don't have the book here in front of me (quotation marks with no reference means nothing anyway *hint, hint*) but it was for sure Renzo's book.
              And I believe him.

So to recap: Japnese jiu jitsu THEN Judo THEN Gracie/Brazillian jiu jitsu.

So you're saying Judo has no kansetsuwaza? (Joint Locking Techniques)

Hey, I know you've been spoon fed Gracie propaganda since you started training but here's a little clue for you player...

Jiu-jitsu (de Brasil) came from KODOKAN JUDO.

"There are no techniques in BJJ that can not be found in traditional Kodokan Judo". Mark Tripp (6 dan kodokan Judo).

Here's a short list of positions and techniques renamed for your art...

                        "North/South" or "69" = kamishihogatame
                        "guard" = dojime
"open guard" = choza or ashigarami
                        "half guard" = ashigarami
                        "passing the guard" = hairigata

If royce didn't prep for stand up meaning:

Boxing, clinching, kneeing, kicks, td defense, getting up when you have too.. not depending on Jiu Jitsu if not nessesary .. then he has a chance...

Like Jiu Jitsu i've been taught to be good on your back and top game so no matter where you land you can fight well..

same thing w/ mma .. you fight were the fight takes you .. like hughes does it.. so we'll see..
