I think the same thing will happen like the GSP and Penn Match.
Penn beat the crap outa him, but because of his ufc legal squabbles, plus GSP popularity the decision goes to GSP.
It sux, but I think that will be the outcome.

    Foreel

GSP got the takedowns, thus that was the difference in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Penn tried for one and almost landed in the mount, had Penn got him down he would have killed him on the ground, I really dont understand what he was thinking. He deserved to lose for those tactics

I know what ur saying, but the shere damage done to GP was enough in my opinion to have the decision go either way. Thats why it was a split decision. But you can not doubt that GP is more popular among the UFC sway.

      • If Royce wins, it will be one of the greatest days for BJJ stylists

        • Matt has to many tools!

I love gracie, he was such a suprise in the early days, but here I cant see him stopping hughes. Hughes just has to many tools, he is stronger, faster & hits harder.

this being said he has to be carful on top, no sloppy mounts and he has to keep in tight. Gracie has been known to find an arm from no wear,

one thing touched on here, the gui has always been an advantage for gracie, he used for leverage in the early days, also now there are rules that wern't in place, though I like gracie I think he was on his way out against kimo before he grabbed the hair.

          just my two sense

          • I believe Matt has the most chance to win. He is really on top of his game right now. I want Royce to win though. He is one of my favorite fighters to watch. I heard he has been working on his wrestling as well as striking. I believe his wrestling won't help him much but maybe his striking will. Matt is not that good of a striker but I think he is still a little better than Royce.

If it goes to the ground and it is not a slam KO or ground and pound situation then Royce will win.

The standing game is in favor of Matt but don't count Royce out. This can also come to a decision which will suck.

            • I would love to see Royce win that match but the superior power comes with Matt. I believe Matt also has a nice ground game, maybe not as strong as Royce but has Royce really been staying in shape

                • If Hughes tries to rely on strengh and speed and athletism than Royce will have more a chance in beating him. I think this is going to be a very technical match.

                  • well we know that the Victor will be fighting George St. Pierre; and for some reason I would like to see GSP beat Matt Hughes

                        • If Royce Gracie has Matt Hughes in closed guard, does Royce have a GOOD chance of submitting him???

                          • Matt has the youth advantage but I think Royce will find a way to win because of all his Combat experience. What's the date of the fight? Tonight perhaps?

                            • Its next saturday, you should order it.............Royce is so much more skilled at JJ than Hughes. My brother is a student under Gregg Thompson(a BJJ blackbelt), and Royce Gracie visited their gym a while back. Gregg, who can submit other blackbelts pretty well, grappled against Royce several times...Royce tapped him effortlessly each time...Royce would allow him to do one thing, Royce would try to set up a move, Gregg would counter it, as soon as that happened he was caught. Royce tricks you on the ground, and he has serveral moves already planned one after another. Matt Hughes would be easily caught by Royce in a normal grappling match and thats what Royce will turn their fight into. Also, I wouldnt be suprised if Royce has been training with an olympic wrestler to get Matt to the ground. I think Royce will armbar Hughes or leg lock him.
