I think that the whole basis for ufc is to just watch someone get knocked out. People are fooled and say its not boxing because they can wrestle too but all anyone is interested in is the KO which is the entire background of boxing. UFC FANS= rednecks who dont know a thing about mma.
Oh hey now, don't go putting boxing in with UFC, please.
I didn't get to watch the fight, but I hate poor sportsmanship. It's a shame really because it seems like sportsmanship is kind of a lost value these days. I'm with Dan and XF, it lowers my opinion of any athlete when I hear them talk trash.
it may lower your opinion of them, though in actuality you still dont really know what kind of person they are in real life.
of course that will never happen because dana knows that all the white trash watch the ufc, and if chuck were to loose the tire burning fan base would be gone. and the way he flips out after he wins is embarrasing to watch. for some reason people like to see a boxing match in mma, get a boxer in the ring with him, and see how well he does. actually get someone thats actually decent in the ring.
...so Babalu sucks, Randy sucks, Vernon sucks, etc, etc...?
Is that what you're saying?
Actually he is an educated man who has enough ambition and talent to go after his dreams despite having invested the time and effort to get a degree. Most people would feel that would lock them into what they have to do for the rest of their life. I also think it's good to get out and party now and again, especially when you work so much to achieve your goals. I think having a balance of work and fun makes for an overall happier and well adjusted person. Obviously, the people who don't believe this can be uptight peckerheads. And, I'm sure that his kids and family are pretty damn happy that he's peddling xyeince. That will help to ensure that they can get an education like their old man and not have to worry about $ as much while they pursue their goals.
Of course my opinion only matters about as much as yours, but that's my two cents.
I'm just being frank and saying that the guy is half the speaker that president Bush is, and Bush is a horrible public speaker as well all know (no comment on Bush's politics from my point of view, I like some I don't like some, this isn't intended to be political). Ever heard him speak? He talks like hes drunk ALL the time.
Also, fun is great, but the guy has a kid at home and the first thing he mentions after his fights is the party hes going to. A guy who gets drunk and goes to the playboy mansion looses a few points as a father in my book.
Wow I don't even know why I'm getting into this personal realm but I think we are all just ranting on Chuck and I sure have my fair share to throw in for that category.

No I don't, and I'm not passing judgement on them. For all I know the guy is a saint in his personal life who spends all his free time doing not for profit charity work with children. Hell, I'm not perfect, and it's not like I pass judgement on my friends every time they do something I don't agree with. If I met the guy I might even like him enough despite the trash talk to invite him over for beer and poker if we were short handed for a game. Believe me, we talk some shit when we play hold 'em However, the fighters represent both their respective schools and the sport as a whole in the eyes of the fans. As a fan I look down on what I see as poor sportsmanship. I think it would be better for the sport as a whole if we saw less of this sort of thing.

Contact the powers that be in the UFC and tell them! I think we should all demand as artists and competitors that they demonstrate a higher standard of conduct....
That being said I think we need to consider the TARGET audience. They could give a shit less about tradition or HONOR... They want the beer drinking shirt buying wanna be brawlers with CASH to watch and be entertained by the highs and lows in the "new" sport...
I will never pay per view or fly to Nevada to see this crap... I wait for the DVD release. 3.00$ is more than enough to be irked by the stupidity...

Where is the art? Mixed up martial garbage...
You know, I probably should write them a letter. If enough fans speak up they might just start encouraging a better attitude. They are marketing to a very small audience, and I don't think it has to be that way. There are lots of people that might enjoy watching the sport if it could get past it's reputation as a blood spectacle for juvenile delinquents. There are def. some changes that would have to made before that's going to happen though.
Im willing to bet 100 bucks that everyone whos complaining and talking shit will order the next ufc without a second doubt.Put the fucking PPV on MUTE if you dont want to hear people talk who were brought up differenty then yourself.Whats acceptable for one person might not be for another...get over it its not going to change...no use in bitching over it...just order it or dont....anyone who would miss out on watching MMA fights because someone has a "potty mouth" is a fuckin Jerk.(god i love swearing)
ok i dont kno how many times this has to be said...YOU CAN'T STAND WITH CHuCK LIDDEL......rampage beat him by rtaking him to the ground, so did Cotoure the only people that can stand with him are, in my opinion, vitor (forgot his last namebut it starts with a B) and wanderlie silva
Watch Randy, in the 1st fight with lidell, or Rampage in his fight with Lidell... they beat chuck in the standup, and they won.... so.... the only two losses he's had since getting choked out as a kickboxer... he lost the standup... hmmm.
Chuck has power but his standup isnt traditionally technical, Randy and Rampage both won the stand up then took them down... sure Randy would take him down and mash his face everyonce in awhile, but its clearly from his boxing that he wins, he has a boxing stance almost all the time throughout the fight.
Watch Rampage.. If I remember correctly, he only takes lidell down at the end, for the last maybe minute where he pounds the shit out of him and finishes him.. the problem with Lidell is you HAVE to stand with him because its hard to take him down.. you have to stand wth him for two rounds or so until you get the option to take him down.
And as for only silva or Vitor belfort...
I think Belfort can stand with him with his amazing boxing, but only if he trains, tries hard, and comes back as the legendary "Old vitor"... Vitor is either off or on, and lately hes been off.
Silva is kinda wild, and if you want to debate this with someone I give you sherdog.com... endless amount of that going on there.
I think a few people would have something to say about standing with chuck... Shogun at LHW, I think Franklin at 205 could beat lidell... a bunch of heavyweights, arvloski, fedor, cro cop, hunt.....

Cheers man, here's to all the strikers
I don't think a letter would help too much with Dana. I'm pretty sure he would be moved by 20,000 people not buying a ppv though.
Why all the hating on Chuck? Every interview I've ever seen him in, he's been polite and respectful. He's obviously no dummy, he's got a BA in Business and Accounting from Cal Poly. So he goes to parties; he's got two kids, but he's single, and the kids' mom has custody. He spends time with his kids when he's exercising his visitation, but when they're back with their mother, why the heck shouldn't he go to the Playboy mansion if he gets invited?
All that leaves is tattoos and a mohawk, and even if you don't like 'em, bad taste in your appearance doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. Chuck's all right.
