In my country womans boxing grew and then died as the gerneal public didn't like to see woman slugging it out with bloody noses etc. So now submission wrestling is becoming popular amongst women martial artists as they can use their BJJ/Judo/wrestling skill in a competitive environment, still appeal to the general public and still maintain a certain level of femininity.

I agree with you when you say you want to see the best fighters when watching UFC or Pride -- so do I. However, if there's women out there who are able to beat the shit out of some of the UFC/Pride fighters, I say let them compete!
