The fight earned Johnson $115,000, and silenced critics who had belittled Johnson's previous victory over Tommy Burns as empty, claiming Burns was a false champion since Jeffries had retired undefeated. He was a pioneer in his day! HURAH!

Wikipedia is a very invalid, unreliable source of information, and should never be cited. Any article can be changed by anyone. Jeffries was out of shape and old when Jack Johnson knocked him out. Though, he (Jack Johnson) was one of the best ever in my opinion.

Also, guys, likened means how oftened they are used as a standard of comparison(not sure if that's how the author of this thread intended it though). A likened fighter would be one that moderen day fighters are compared to, ex: "He hits like Mike Tyson".

                Yeah

Famous-Rocky! kiddin......Probably Tyson, not only for his fights, but his bullshit

Successfull- Tyson, if you are talking money. If just fighting, i would say Gracie.

                Liked- Gracie, Rany Couture

Overrated-I would say Ken Shamrock...but I think everyone knows he's not all that anymore.

However, there was likely some kind of combat sport fighter on some part of the globe in some time period who was likened to a greater extent, these questions are very hard.

Also: Rickson is not invinsible and he himself knows this. Some of his "wins" were simply in tournaments and they certainly weren't all in big Pride FC events, we all know that. However, I really don't think he has ever lost to be honest with you. I've never see or heard of him losing in any competition, be it sambo/grappling/vale tudo/ect...
i dont really know much about rickson or how legit his record is, but i do know he did lose to Ron Tripp at the usa sambo championships. the wickipedia says that this is ricksons only loss

                      "The Rickson Gracie Fight

In 1993 at the U.S. Sambo Championships in Norman, Oklahoma, undefeated Rickson Gracie with over 300 straight victories, was matched with multiple Judo and Sambo champion Dr. Ron Tripp. The 6 feet 205 pound Tripp threw the 5 feet 8 inch. 185 pound Gracie to the canvas by "Uchimata" in 47 seconds and Gracie's shoulders touched the floor, thus giving Tripp "absolute" victory under U.S. Sambo rules. Rickson complained that he didn't understand the rules, because if he did, he would never have let himself been thrown. However, the results stood and a rematch never happened. Thus, officially, Dr. Ron Tripp became the only fighter in Rickson Gracie's legendary career to defeat him."

                        Danfaggela,

Rickson lost a Sambo match to Dr. Ron Tripp in a 1993 match. His excuse after the match was that he wasn't fully cognizant of the rules so he doesn't count it as a loss.
