What's the difference between BJJ and Jiu-jitsu?

Do a search...been discussed at length many times here.
But in summary, bjj focuses a lot more on the ground. Traditional jj focuses less on the ground and distrubutes the techniques into standup as well. There are many other details that explain the differences though.

JJ = rote rehearsal, if this, then that scenarios.
BJJ = spontanious application of techniques.
It's the difference between choriography and improvisation. That is the fundamental difference in my view. It's the difference between 3 step sparring and boxing. Know what I mean.
CAVEAT: Some JJ is not like this and is essentially Judo. So don't get in my face JJ people.

It's been pointed out that Gracie Jujitsu is actually the Kosen Judo style and not really jujitsu. Maeda was a Kosen Judo stylist. I'am not sure how the Gracies started using the word Jujitsu.

Thanks shamster! Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is also spelled wrongTraditional Jujutsu can look more like karatedo or Judo but BJJ looks like Judo newaza.(matwork)
