Pride's production style is much cooler, so is the way they present their fighters...the UFC looks too much like "pro" wrestling...with all the fighters talking mad shit.

Vitor Belfort beat Wanderlei Silva in the UFC, therefore Vitor is better than everyone at 205 in pride, because Wandy is the champ, so therefore Vitor is the real champ, therefore Vitor owns pride, and since vitor lost to Chuck, Randy and Tito, then therefore they own Vitor, and therefore UFC owns pride.

I definitely gotta agree on production/presentation as well...Pride's got a real classy spectacle feel to it.

I think all the PC numbnuts complaining about UFC being too brutal wouldn't feel the same way about Pride. Pride has a very professional sportslike atmosphere. UFC tries to make it look like a trailer park brawl.

I really wonder how well Pride will take off when they get over here.

I think SamuraiGuys assessment covered it all, however I thoroughly enjoy UFC on Spike TV right now. I don't know if that is shown outside U.S. or not, I don't travel anymore. That being said, I think because of the UFC's contract with Spike and the publicity you will see alot of figthers moving to UFC soon. They have air time 3 times a week, I mean you can't beat that. When is the last time you watched a Pride fight on regular cable?

For me though, when it comes to ordering PPV fights, I go to Pride. Sorry UFC guys. The fights just tend to be more intense the commentators are better and overrall so is the fight talent. Sooner or later though I think the UFC is going to take so much of the market share for MMA fighting that Pride is going to fade away. Dana White is a great business man, and the business that is the UFC is doing very well at marketing to the average Joe.

Cant take away anything from Japanese pro-wrestling, after all Antonio Inoki was the father of MMA, IMO, no one remembers Ali versus Inoki, or Andre the Giant Vrs Chuck Wepner, but as weird and awkward as those fights were they were the grandfathers to MMA. Pancrase, and Shooto (which was founded by the original Tiger Mask) were popular years before the USA got hip to MMA, which is why Japanese fight fans are more educated and respectable then the new wave of MMA bandwagoneers that are doing a good job draggin down the UFC . I still like to watch UFC, and there are good fighters who set a good example as ambassadors for it. but more and more I watch it it descends into the realm of shit talkin rivals instead of good natured respectful competitors. Still we have several boxing organizations, why not 3 or 4 MMA top level organizations? Then we could have an attempt to cross-over and unify the belts. But what do I know anyways, just my .02 $

its mostly the rule of the elbow and forearm strikes that make me go to ufc. Also the cage isfar better the nthe ring imo since no stoppages of the fighters getting out of the ring.
