Actually, for that matter, I was pretty much right for gi also. I do recall reading Royler and Renzo Gracie, one of the Machados, Eddie Bravo, and Jacare all advising against hip tosses in MMA and submission grappling and all of them except for Bravo(this could be merely becuase he's never been asked to review the issue) have said that tying up with a larger opponent is a bad idea in submission grappling or mma.

How's this for a pickup topic: Lack of confidence in takedowns leading to less successful takedowns. I know I used to have this problem, well I kind of still do. Anybody sometimes feel that their takedowns will get stuffed and have no confidence in their shot so when they finally do convince them to shoot they telegraph their shot to their opponent?
