Unfortunatly, the question is 'how would' and not 'how should'. I expect an openly gay MMA player would not be recieved very well at all. Blue Wave's own ironic comment demonstrates what the sort of reaction we'd see.

That being said, I really must say that nearly all of you are full of shit. While its noble to refrain from outwardly directing hate at any group, I know that most of you, if not ALL of you would have a problem rolling with a guy who is flamboyantly gay. The minute he came out wearing ANY apparel that was pink, or any sequins or feathers you'd opt to not roll with him. And in the event that by some miracle you got passed that, you'd try to kill him the minute he made an inappropriate innuendo or gesture.

That's two different issues though. There are lots of people that would be willing to accept training with a person who was quietly but openly gay, but who would quickly get uncomfortable if it were constantly thrown in their face the way you're describing. I think the opperative word here is "inappropriate". Sure, if a gay person comes into the gym and goes out of their way to flaunt a gay persona they're going to have problems. That's not everyone though, there are a lot of gay people that can get along pretty much any where.

as Lu already said, what you are describing here is another issue. people acting ridiculous doesn't have a whole lot to do with sexual orientation inmop. i would have a problem with anyone who goes out of their way to act ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous, regardless of sexual orientation.
