I know most of the old timers have migrated to forums that are populated with fighters and not as many tma'ist...But who's out here from the old school...I know Sweep Em is on nhbgear as well as well as Andre, judo guy posts sometimes on the UG,BIG BIRD is on fightsport and NHB Gear, Patterson is on the ug, E1 doesnt post he's to busy banging prostitutes in Japan...Keith S is on the UG...Pit Dog doesnt post...What happened to that japanophile Ryu, who was obessesed with Japan and was an overweight Greek dude.

Patterson never cameback after the forum re opened...I posted a lot before it went down...I was hardcore on Sesame St. back then...Most of the others went on to other forums...I just got EJ's phone number if u remember him...Back then when this place wasnt full of tma'ers and fighters posted on it...Hell I remember Rafael Torre and them posting here.

I think I've shaken your hand once at Discover, but I've mostly trained with Pat and some with Tim. I think I remember one time you were practicing some Tae kwon do kicks on one of the water-filled dummies? and he decided to take a leak...

Either way, I freaking miss training with you guys and if I move closer, I'm so there.

I remember most of those guys from when I used to post a lot.
Sweep'em had words on the forum with a guy named Gary, and that led to a challenge. They were actually going to fight. But then Gary backed out. It wasn't serious, just fun and games.

Andre was friends with Oleg Taktarov. He's the guy screaming in pain on Oleg's instructional videos as the "victim".

Big Bird was a guy who said he had trained a lot of boxing, but was new to MMA back then. I remember once on the UG he posted about how he had gotten a 'fighter's card' (like a baseball card) of Chris Brennan with some gear he bought, and he said, "how come I have to get a crappy fighter?" I think Big Bird didn't realize that Brennan was a regular on the old UG. But he apologized to Brennan after.

Patterson was a junior high kid. He made things pretty funny around here. He had to write a short biography of a famous person for school once and he chose Frank Shamrock. He posted the essay on the forum. I would have given him a C on it, but his English teacher liked it and gave him an A.

Pit Dog was hilarious. He had strong opinions on fighting, political issues, everything under the sun.

I didn't know Ryu wasn't Japanese, I totally thought he was. He had a definite hard-on for Judo and all Japanese fighters.

JaredExtreme was here as long as I can remember.

There was a troll who used to type his posts in all caps. He'd get banned and come back with a different name, same style. And he'd get banned again. Some names I remember that he used were THEDON, THEDONBREAKYOURARMI, JIMMYSMACKYOURASS, BROWNBELTFROMCANADA, I'm sure that there were more. Probably people imitated him too, it probably wasn't all one person. I don't know if the infamous Striker18 who came back as Strikerl8 (l instead of 1) was associated with all this. Striker18 got banned from every MMA forum out there.

Ronin, Hawk, Masala, Slippery Pescado, Martial Artist (a kid younger than Patterson)...those guys were memorable too.

The funniest poster I ever saw went under the handle Soca. He used to piss everyone off and had no respect for anyone. He wasn't even really trolling but he'd post something and get 50 pissed-off replies in a day.

Ronin, is in New York still working as a writer and was happy last time we chatted...E1am is BACK in Japan working as a headhunter...Martial Artist now posts on NHB GEAR as Kimono MAN and is an accomplished Purple belt...Patterson is still around and strange as ever, I chat with him on a regular basis...Keith S just had a daughter and has about 5 or 6 pro fights...Just got an E mail from Keith WS he's still doing well.
