  • Help with gi sizing

Hey guys I plan on taking some judo classes at a nearby community college next semester and I require a gi. I plan on buying a gameness gi since a good friend of mine has had one for 3 years now and it's still in pretty good condition. I tried to check the Gi sizing on the gameness website but it doesn't say. I'm 5'10'' 156 pounds, if anyone can help me out on what gi size to get that would be great.

    PS: The gi's are preshrunk.

Probably a size 4 or 5. I'm 5'11" 213 and I take a 6 in judo ghi. It all depends on if you want it to fit big, loose or tight.

ok you're 5'10 and yuo ony weigh 156
Hardball's ony one inch taller and he's 210
I'm 6'2 and I'm tipping the scales at about 260 last I checked.

I unnerstand at your age there's mertabolic stuff going on that would tend to make it harder to put on weight but I just don't think you're tryin hard enough...I mean there's progain and protein shakes and triple decker bacon burgers and video games and stuff

I'll work harder on the beer gut, I swear. With great age comes great bellies.

Ah ok, thanks. So if I want a loose gi I'd get a 4 then?

Yea 4 should do it. I find that even the pre shrunk ghis still shrink over time.

I'm 6'2" and about 198 (recently down from 205, thankyouveddymuch) and also wear a size 6 judo gi.

I had to have my ghi pants taken up but the top was perfect.

                BJJexpertise,

If you're taking up Judo, I hope you ordered the Gameness gi without much of the logos and patches on it. The Judo community tends to shun away from all the patches typical on a BJJ gi.

Also competitive Judo requires sleeves than are generally larger than the BJJ cut.

Yeah I went with a judo gi instead. It's a black Roninbrand gi.
