Don't misunderstand him, the knife is for seppuku so you don't give your attacker the satisfaction of beating you.

been looking at these filipino styles and im very fuckin impressed. just the sort of thing i would like to be ready for except i dnt ever intend on carrying a weapon of any sort just in case. so the idea of using a friggin machette dnt come in to it. gonna have a look for a schhol nearbye that teaches these styles and have a go unless another style of fighting catches my attention first

                  Funny *h*T!!!

I love the levity of this group man...you guys just made my day with the seppaku with a flying triangle!!! LMAO seriously....

Amputation is not an art form to being lightly under taken, I think we can all agree on that! If you want to remove a man's arm I believe the most enjoyable method is...well depends on the size of the man's arm that is being removed...is he a body builder? A climber? Chainsaws are effective, but you must account for both the noise and the potential kickback hazard Katanas and the ilk are very potent, but the years of "dry" cutting to gain the appropriate stroke can be daunting. Lasers and lightsabers seem to do an excellent job, just hard to get them from the silver screen to our plane of reality easily.

I'll consult my medical friends and see what they suggest to take a man's arm and rend it from it resting place. Disarms on the MMA board... just when you think you've seen it all???

                      Maximus the Merciful

So let's just abandon the "cultural" norms and get right back to the Colesium...GWB giving the thumbs up or down...oh wait that would be the dominion of Premier Dana White and his staff right?

Best ways of dealing with a knife weilding opponent (no particular order):

                      1. Bring your gun to his knife fight!!!
                      2. Bring your GUNS to his knife fight!!!
                      3. Bring your frag grenade to his knife fight!!!
                      4. Bring your sniper friend to his knife fight!!!
                      5. Straf his position with your Apache Longbow!!!!!!!!!
And on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

I had this instructor in Colorado who gave me some great advice on fighting someone who has a weapon . . . it went something like "get a weapon with a longer reach and hit them with it"

                        .

                        .

                        .

Along that line, I once hit a guy with the steel bumper from his Jeep.

                          Colorado training?

                          Fusion,

Care to share who you trained with in Colorado? Based on posts you seem to be of a similar mindset and living in Colorado I don't want to miss training with your instructor if he embodies those same qualities.

Is it really? Its interesting how and why these trends start.

I trained a little bit with staff and sword back in the 90's - back then there was nothing extreme about it. It was just part of the style's cirriculum.

Now I'm just old-school, outdated and uncool when sword is cool
