Hi there,
Ok I have attended a few more classes and finally don't feel ridiculously useless on the ground! (oeeeeeeeeeeiiy!)
I would appreciate it greatly if anyone could list some high percentage subs from the guard, half guard, and when on top, side control/ or in half guard.
Only because these are my current basic positions, and I know the kimura (from side control + guard) and am working on the triangle (from the guard), but a good friend who is a blue belt (he lives miles away so unfortuantely I don't train with him) says I need to focus on subs that work more of the time - he suggested to start with armbar and triangle, and work from there. (mainly because you can throw your legs up for a triangle, miss and switch to an armbar)
Just wondering if you guys had any thoughts or words of wisdom on the subject. Oh and obviously training more is on the cards - I just liek to watch some videos of stuff before I go to class so I have some ideas. How about guillotines, or are they only really worth doing when someone attempts a takedown?
Thanks very much
