Can a 230 pound man with over a 300 pound bench press and no formal MMA training defeat GSP in a street fight?GSP fights in a weight class though. Can he handle the extra weight and power is the question?Interesting answers so far... is anyone willing to argue the other side?I guess I need to start training MMA... I was under the impression brute strength goes a long way. I guess it's all in my head.

I'm a (fat) 247 pound man with a 315 bench (1-rep max cheating on a smith machine) and some martial arts training (but essentially nothing compared with GSP's). I can guarantee you that my chances of taking GSP in a street fight (or any kind of fight) are orders of magnitude smaller than those of a snowball in an industrial-strength microwave in the center of the hottest level of hell.

GSP street fight
GSP would totally win in this scenario!
Of course GSP would be situated half a block away armed with an AR-15 and backed up by five or six buddies similarly armed.
Yeah. Brute strength is great, but assault rifles make for a great equalizer.
Too bad this is a KB post and the stupid human who originally came up with this drivel will never see any response.
Then again, if the 230 pound man happens to have air support...

Since this is a BJJ forum, I'll relate a BJJ story.
Shortly after getting my blue belt I was rolling with a relatively inexperienced guy who was a powerlifter who was exponentially stronger than I was. He had some ability and was strong enough to muscle his way out of a lot of what I attempted, but I eventually got him with an armbar from the guard.
Big wow. Later on in the class I got schooled by a more advanced blue belt over which I had at least 25 pounds.
I'm not even sure why I'm responding to this thread since it is unlikely that the original poster will ever see this.
Nyah nyah! Knowledge Bot is a pansy!!!
(Not that there is anything wrong with that...)
