Personally I like to do skill training first so Im not to worn out and make mistakes or tired movements if you like, for example if youve just bench pressed then you decide to work the hand pads it has to have a neromuscular effect on your body and fine skill movements may become gross skill movements.Originally posted by Jakes21 View PostHi i heard sumthing about to never do weight training or endurance training before skill training?whats up with tha?is it true?
Just my thought on things, and experience from trying different methods over 30 years.

If you're doing both in a day, I usually prefer pumping the iron a few hours prior to BJJ or Judo. I usually put a lot of effort into the classes so by the time I'm done I'm so exhausted anyways, plus, fatigued muscles can help you focus more on technique.

I can see the point your making about fatigue helping you in BJJ/Judo,fatigued arm would make your grip and pulling etc less efective so you would probably move your hips more and roll lighter.Originally posted by Bjjexpertise@be View PostIf you're doing both in a day, I usually prefer pumping the iron a few hours prior to BJJ or Judo. However for a striking workout I really dont think ot would help yourskill to work pads or spar with fatigued arms/legs,I know for my Muay Thai training It doesnt help me,and I have tried many different ways of training ove the years.

Skill and endurance can be worked together bro,It really depends on how you look at things, for example when I go on the Pads to work Muay Thai skill and endurance are being worked at the same time, start of with less rounds and build up.Originally posted by Jakes21 View PostThanx for the advice.well im workimg a program out for myself.so would u say after skill training i should do endurance workout?
When you are really tired stop or make your recovery time longer etc,for example a Muay Thai match is 5 x3min long with 2 min rest, this is so the boxers can recover in order to be able to box hard again it the next rounds.
I couldnt explain all this to you in a scientific way,but over 30 years Ive tried loads of ways and this works for me,Mind you Ima old phart now and cant do what I could anyway!.
Good luck sir.
