I don't like the color combo of a blue gi with a blue belt. A purple belt on a blue gi looks terrible also. Krugan's are good durable gis with a nice fit for slim people. I don't know anything about HKC. Atamas are fine but I always thought of them as a lower end model. Sweatpants are bad because they will rip within a couple classes. Judo gis are super durable but they are looser fitting.

Aiki, i think if you get the HCK entry level gi, you'll be fine. it uses the thinnest gauge material out of all the HCK's.
i'm here in los angeles and it can get pretty toasty out here too. as for being skinny, i think a thicker gi would only benefit you... kind of like a piece of armor.

In my experience, Judo gi's are a big liability. When I first started out I had one, and of the course the sleeves are over sized, albeit very thick. Man, it was so easy for others to spider-guard, then reverse me. Also, I think krugans are way too thin for their price, they seem like single weaves even though they are supposed to be doubles.

I have only seen/grappled one Atama, it was ok. It seems kinda baggy tho.I myself am still thinking over whether to buy a howard single or an Oauno blue single. I know everyone says Howards are better, but I really do want a blue and I would have to get a double weave for a Howard Blue. decisions decisions.

Akidoka AKA Frosh from intheguard, I have found that Krugans have the best cut for slim people. I have tried atamas golden weave and sold it(Kinda wishing I wouldnt). But I find that it stretches out of shape easily(I dont think that the single weave or double does just the golden weave), and the skirt comes out very easily. Atama gis are made in half sizes to me. Howard makes great gis and are very durable. But I find that they dont breath that good. I am skinny as hell, so Krugans fits me the best. In the summer, I dont wear Howards as much just becuase of how hot they get. But since you can start training now, just get a gi and get on the mat!
