  • Master Wong Defense to Chest Shove

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Not so much his methods as it was his choice of words lol: (warning for STRONG language)

ot really the best defense against that either. He really should have attempted to stop the grab initially.

Other wise put your arm on the guys hands lke he does, turn out and bow, or turn out and take a knee.

      What a joke.

A mockney hard man accent and a bunch of cliche film moves.

Interestingly, he's been very successful, which says a lot about the martial arts audience in this country.

I agree with that. Once someone gets their hands on you it may be too late to strike and break free, especially if they got a hold of your shirt/jacket.

I've looked at the man's website and in the videos he definitely tries to give off the impression that he's indestructible. Likes to drop the F bomb a lot too lol.

Not to mention the motion to shove can also hide numerous strikes to the throat and belly, two very soft locations.

And as BJJex stated once he has his hands on you he can pretty much use your shirt as a Gi and at minimum hip toss your ass.

To boot he is now touching you which means even if you were to somehow blind him, he knows where to hit if he's any good cause he knows where you are.

Best bet is to practice defending against straight on movements so he doesn't get you, also train what to do if you mess up, but that's more of a band aide on a boo boo.

"If you eye gouge he'll f*cking kill your whole family"

He probably accidentally went for the eye gouge the first time.

So....? what about "master" and his so called "techniques"??? laughable to be sure but what is good about it? is there ANY merit to a traping of his hands on your chest?

                    Just asking...

                    TY

Well if he is someone who only strikes with his hands, or you want him to be close to you so you can wail on his ass real quick yes.

There are some options here. Maybe this week end me and the wife can video some.

My wife likes the new moniker. Sunday's my fun day so I'll see what I can get together, I can't promise as much profanity though.

Any Self Defence training that starts from the premise of "he does abc so you respond with xyz" is fundementally flawed from the outset, its classic martial arts bullshit.

If people are wandering into your personal space and grabbing you with both hands then your self defence already sucks, so I'm not too concerned with watching the rest of your DVD.

Awareness, avoidance, control of your personal space, and pre-emption are the cornerstone of effective self defence. Unless of course you just swear him to death.

I haven't been to Ipswich but I have been to Harlesden......and Slough.

That would make me angry I suspect.
