  • UFC 101, Anderson Silva DESTROYS Forrest Griffin

I can't believe it. It must have lasted 2 or 3 minutes at most. Forrest had NO CHANCE whatsoever! Anderson is so elusive it's phenomenal, and his counterstrikes are just lethal. He finished Forrest with a jab while backpeddling!

Just to put things in perspective, Forrest was the UFC LHW champ. He finished Shogun and he dominated Quinton Jackson.

For the people who thought GSP could move up in weight and challenge Anderson Silva, NO WAY!!!!!

I don't know what they can do to challenge Anderson next. Maybe a rematch with Henderson, a fight against Machida, Demian Maia.

I'd love to see Anderson Silva vs Brock, I know it'd never happen. But I actually think Brock would lose.

BJ vs Ken Flo, up next.

Griffen was so completely outclassed that I almost suspected the UFC had turned into the WWE.

    It was that bad.

I think Silva must have broken Forrest's jaw for him to literally run out of the ring like that.

I think Silva has been eating melange if he can anticipate punches like that. If it wasn't fixed, he's a goddamn super hero.

If Anderson really wants a challenge, wouldn't it be cool if he held the welterweight, middleweight and light heavyweight champion simultaneously?

Anderson has fought as low as 167 in Japan before. I think he walks around at 215-220. So he could conceivably fight at 170, keep 185, 205, and also HW.

I recently learned that welterweight Thiago Alves walks around over 200, and cuts to 170. I didn't realize the extent of weight cutting.

I think a good fight for Anderson would be against Randy at 205. I think Randy will lose to Nogueira, and then the UFC should try to set this up. I think Randy will lose , but it would be one hell of a fight.

They should have Henderson and Maia (if he beats Marquardt) fight instead of giving Henderson a rematch with the Spider. Then, winner fights Anderson.

Anybody notice what Forrest was attempting when Sila KOd him?.

Does anyone think Anderson Silva would do well in Pro Boxing?.

I do. He has sparred both with Minotauro and Minotouro and they are good boxers, so if he focuses on boxing only he can surely do well. I love the way he dodges punches, I think he moves really well.

If I remember well, Forrest threw a jab-cross combination before the TKO, but not a boxing one. It reminded me of something I saw in an old Thai bare knuckle video.

Ok I saw the fight again, I thought it looked like old muay straight punch but it's a bit far from that. it really reminds me of what Shogun did to Liddell, I guess he wanted to surprise him in the same way.

I'd like to see him in boxing too, but I wouldn't be so keen to say he would be a success. Ray Sefo (K1 fighter) tried the change and wasn't very successful and he's a very good puncher with a good jaw.

Nevertheless it would still be good to see Silva give it a try.
