how can you say ricardo does not have good stand up?

for a grappler picking up a second tool, his standup is far better than say igor or silvas grappling.

Hello? We're talking standup skills measured by Vale Tudo standards. I think I have very good striking skills as compared to the rest of the residents on my block. Does that mean anything?

Ricardo's striking skills will not take him to the top of his weight class.

hello? I am not talking about your neighbors. ricardo sure did do some pounding on shoji with the standup, what does that make him?

            Mark Coleman!

He was too busy pounding on Shoji's ribs.

You get the point dear. Shoji's face is there for the taking. Pounding Shoji in the face (or in the a$$ like Coleman did) does not constitute good striking skills.

Silva vs. Oyama - Terrible stoppage. It didn't even look like it was necessary at all.

Nino vs. Johil - I was impressed (obviously) with Nino's ground game but damn did he scare the shit out of me with his terrible stand up. His stand up is the same as Gilbert's ground game. Still, once it hit the floor Johil stood no chance.

Pele vs. Matsui - Pele is an idiot. The decision could've gone either way but I give it to Matsui just because Pele pissed me off by not kicking his ass.

Goodridge vs. Overseem - Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't in there against Goodridge so I don't know what its like; but what was with that quick tap? I didn't see a single strike hit Overseem. Disapointing.

Mezger vs. Liddel - The best fight on the show and Mezger continues to impress. That was the worst I've seen an A level fighter get KOed.

Vitor vs. Herring - Another decision that could've gone either way but I agree with the judges. It was a draw IMO but Herring does have 15 lbs. on Vitor and he got a yellow card. Plus Vitor really won, I don't understand all the bitching about the JD.

Dan Henderson vs. Shoji - OMG! Henderson impressed me so much; I can't believe I turned into a Henderson fan so fast. He was awesome in EVERY part of his game. Beating Shoji worse than Coleman did. As far as wrestlers are concerned, the only one's I'll give props to is Couture and Henderson; who are both unbelievable.

Igor vs. Yvel - Just Gilbert out of MMA. Horrible performance. I've seen people suck at grappling before but... Forget it, I'm not going to even try.

Fujita vs. Takayama - Work! Just kidding, I love how people call this a work yet Takayama probably took just as big of a beating if not even worse than Shoji did. The knees Fujita was throwing were scaring the hell out of me. Fujita vs. Coleman, MAKE IT HAPPEN!

KO of the night - Liddel vs. Mezger
Sub of the Night - Nino vs. Johil
Asswhooping of the night - Henderson vs. Shoji
Disapointment of the night - I would normally say Yvel vs. Igor, but I never expect an Yvel match to be good anymore. So its Belfort vs. Herring.

this was a really really bad stop. funny though, oyama or his corner didn't say a word about it. I think they realized shungo was probably going to be killed if they fought any longer.

oh my! nino better watch his shoots. that was some scary stuff.

I hate this matsui guy. he is so lame. what's with all the WWF moves? I called it a draw, but pele is clearly a better fighter.

overseem looked like such a baby. quick quick tap.

I think you meant liddel continued to impress?? this was an excellent fight and that punch/knockout was downright scary. like how the edit showed as little of the aftermath as possible?

vitor won the grappling and takedowns. herring won the striking. vitor also had some reversals and was never in trouble with those big kicks to the head. throw in the yellow card and I think it is a fine decision.

I agree 100%. his striking is so powerful. shoji's face looked like a raw steak at the end of that fight!

Igor vs. Yvel - Just Gilbert out of MMA. Horrible performance. I've seen people suck at grappling before but... Forget it, I'm not going to even try.

that is sad when you get rear mounted and choked out by such a striker. I agree, throw him AND big daddy out, so lame.

Fujita vs. Takayama - Work! Just kidding, I love how people call this a work yet Takayama probably took just as big of a beating if not even worse than Shoji did. The knees Fujita was throwing were scaring the hell out of me. Fujita vs. Coleman, MAKE IT HAPPEN!

this fight was actually entertaining. takayama has to have one of the most unfit bodies I have seen in MMA.

KO of the night - Liddel vs. Mezger
Sub of the Night - Nino vs. Johil

I just rewatched Vitor vs. Herring which is a fine, fine decision. I also take back all the disapointment I had in Vitor. He didn't try to drop bombs, but he was still awesome and he hurt Herring more than he got hurt. Plus, quite a few good takedowns didn't hurt.

At one point in the fight Vitor was butt scooting and Herring tried to act bad ass and made him stand up. Vitor then gets up throws ONE punch and Herring shits his pants and goes for the take down.
