      Umm someone else's head. Duh.

"Do you not realize that the target is the nose area? You can hit that area safely with your fist and you can CERTAINLY hit that area safely with the top of your head!!"

Sure you can hit someone's nose with your head, fist, or toe but what if you miss and hit their jaw or their forehead?

"I don't know what HALF of you are thinking. Using the forehead is insane. It's telegraphic as you obviously rear-back to slam the forehead into the face!!! If this isn't so, please clarify."

If you would have read my post carefully you would have seen that I said something along the lines of "steping up to headbutt not whipping my neck around."

"My TWO mutha ****ing cents! "

You are getting pretty worked up about people talking about headbutting. I think you should seek a therapist.

        I know this:

Soccer heading is similar to method 2 or B or whatever. Power from the legs but with the forward part of the head or even the forehead, never the top of your head. Try it the wrong way with a soccer ball traveling 35 mph and see how it feels! So now imagine that soft part against a jaw...ouch.

I have used the method one headbutt from the mount position and it seems to work fine and not cause me too much damage.

Best example of a standing headbutt I saw was Pat Smith v Johnny Whatshisname in UFC 2. It was a kind of diagonal method 1 headbutt. It seemed to do a good job.

I haven't seen too many fighters in UFC use the method 2 headbutt.

          Whatever.

Secondly, I don't think you read MY post very well. It was not I that was getting worked up. Perhaps if you'd noticed the wink icon you could have figured that out.

"Sure you can hit someone's nose with your head, fist, or toe but what if you miss and hit their jaw or their forehead?"

Let me say that which ever method you use will start from a close position. It is apparent that you simply aren't familiar with my method which will usually begin with the Plum position or at least a collar tie. When you're pulling his head into your headbutt, it isn't very likely you're going to hit someone's jaw.

It is a technique that I'm not going to use if I am a foot shorter than my opponent either. Different circumstances dictate different strategies.

I STAND with my way of doing. I have used it in training, against people wearing motorcycle helmets and don't have any pain. Seems to work just fine for me.

As for your assertion that I should seek therapy, that goes without saying. People have been telling me that for years! Maybe one day I will---but I'm just not SUFFERING FROM insanity, I'm enjoying every BIT of it!

Good night everybody, I'll be here all week!

This is why we call it the JC Vandamme headbutt - the perfect counter for when some large fellow has got you in a front bear-hug and is lifting you off the ground!

Its all good dude. I re-read my post and I came off as an A-hole. People do things different but if it works for you then its good.

I remember a few years back watching Paul Vanuk smash the top of his head into people wearing motorcycle helmets.. I tryed it on my bag and it felt like my skull was going to crack each time i did it!! I found that the top of my head is very soft while some of my freinds had no problem with it. My forehead is way thicker/harder than the top of my head but it just depends on how your made.
