edit: actually you're right, BJJ. One of the reasons boxers wear gloves is so they don't break their hands. But the purpose is to make the fight last longer, not to protect the fighter. The result of Queensbury rules is believed to be what is called Punch Drunk Syndrome.

Firstly, I feel genuinely a bit sad for you if your reaction to a point is mentioning the earnings of someone (which in something a bit dumb like MMA is not really going to be for very long nor very secure), you show the very shallow mindset of someone who has submitted to the ideology of materialism/consumerism and are probably the type who tries to get a bigger TV screen or a bigger car than your neighbor, just to stay "one up" or whatever, this is also indicative of someone who is totally self centered/egocentric, ie. someone with their head up their backside.

Secondly, incredibly you demonstrate that the guy (Ortiz) must be a right thicko to get involved with one of those plastic looking & totally faked up Porno people (as I recall Jenna Jameson is a porno type). You mention this as though it's a freakin achievement.

The average bare-knuckle boxing match would last less than 5 minutes. While the immediate effects of this was much worse, the beating the brain would take (as opposed to the face or even knuckles) was much worse given the average span of a padded glove fight would take. Consider this as well as the average span of a boxers career, you can see why the long term affects of the brain being constantly shaken in the skull over such a longer period of time is much worse. Not a pretty alternative, but if you add submission grappling into the mix, it makes it that much better.
