  • Airline Security Suggestions

I have some ideas I have been thinking about regarding enhancements to airline security.

    1. The pilot's cabin should LITERALLY be as sealed with a metal, air tight door that can only be opened from the inside. NO ONE, even the stewardesses should be able to enter the cabin at any time. The pilots would have their own oxygen supply as well as food, water, and toliets.

    2. No carry-on luggage.

    3. Passengers will wear gowns like hospital patients wear.

    4. After their clothing is removed and carefully examined, the passengers will be searched (I know, it's disgusting but I really believe that someone willing to blow up a plane is probaly willing to insert things into their internal cavities) and examined by scenting dogs. Their clothing and personal belongings will accompany the rest of their luggage in the bottom of the plane.

    5. The passengers will be fastened into their seats and made comfortable. However, they must notify the stewardess that they wish to leave their seat. Only one passenger may leave his seat at a time. Also, passengers will be searched upon exiting the restroom and the restroom must be searched after the passenger has been safely fastened into his seat.

    6. Restrictive equipment such as hand and leg "bracelets" equipped with electric shockers that can be used to subdue unruly passengers.

    7. Security guards on the planes.

    8. All efforts should be made to isolate friends/family, with the exception of young children, for the duration of the flight. Also, the level of communication should be kept to a minimum like in a library. You can't talk in a library, why do you need to on a plane. Any communication that does take place should be carefully monitored.

    9. Racial Profiling of people of Arabic ethnicity.

    10. No silverware used on the plane. Only stirofoam plates and glasses along with finger food and beverages served.

    11. This one is completely unrealistic, except what do you think? Background checks could be done on all passengers prior to them being allowed to board the plane. If someone buys a ticket, he must provide full identification. A background check could be done on all passengers. Assuming the passenger passed the background check, he would have to supply a fingerprint before boarding the plane and a quick fingerprint check would be done to make sure he is who he claimed to be when he bought the ticket.

    12. How about a self-destruction button on the plane. As soon as a terrorist takes control of the plane, the pilots have a secret button they can push to cause the plane to explode.

    13. Someday, it will be possible to cheaply, safely, and convienently anesthetize all passengers for the duration of the flight much like a surgeon or a dentist does with a patient.

I personally would prefer to suffer these inconveniences in return for the increased safety of myself and my loved ones. What do you guys think about these different ideas? Anybody like any of them?

Uuuh, dude, there are more terrorists out there besides people of the Arab cultures. There are radical groups out there from every country, from white, red, yellow, and brown people.

Your bigoted ignorance shows when you single out the Arabic people.
Sure the terroritsts that were behind the WTC tragedy were from the Middle East but don't count out the others.

Does the name Timothy McVeigh ring a bell?
      He was home grown.

        My thoughts

A plain clothes and unarmed security officer on board.

A button that the officer (or flight attendents) can press to notify ground control and the pliots that something is wrong.

If the button goes off the pliots seal themselves in the cockpit and fly the plane to the normal destination. Ground control is notified that the pliots are still in control.

If the button is pressed but the pliots don't respond to ground control then the flight is controled by the ground to land ASAP. Where the problem is identified.

Hey SweepEm I don't think that post was serious. And I can't believe that racial profiling bothers you more than a manditory full body cavity search. Some thing you're not telling us ?

As you can see, bigotry gets my blood boiling.

There is no way in hell that an any of these suggestions come into play, I was just highlighting the stupidity of his focus on the WHOLE Arab culture.

              Sweepem

"Uuuh, dude, there are more terrorists out there besides people of the Arab cultures."

Uuuh, dude. If I thought that only Arabic people were capable of terrorism, why would I suggest full body-cavity searches for EVERYONE? If I thought that Arabic people were the only threat, I would suggest that not only no new security measures be taken, except that ALL current safety measures be removed for everyone that is not Arabic if that were the case. Heck, I'd even let non-Arabic people bring firearms on the planes. I'd arm everybody on the plane except the lone Arab gentleman in the corner. He gets stripped, anally probed, chained to his seat, and has to eat finger food off of stirofoam plates while a bunch of armed rednecks kick back and enjoy gourmet meals and cocktails, the whole time eyeing him suspiciously as they nervously fiddle with their firearms.

The fact of the matter is, Arab cultures are responsible for a disproportionate amount of terrorist acts around the world. Therefore, it makes sense to monitor them more closley. Taking the fact that I believe that ALL passengers should be manditorily stripped, separated from their belongings, body-cavity searched, dressed in a gown-like uniform, fastened into their seats, etc., I do not believe that a little extra surveilance is that drastic of a measure.

                homosexuals too...

i think homosexuals are the real terrorists... they terrorize you with their belief that guys can have babies if they just have enough sperm in their butts.

that was a total joke and wasn't meant to offend any gay people... just being a clown...
