"Son, we're not saying that there's anything wrong with you...but its just that NORMAL boys your age DON'T spend all day lifting weights and learning how to choke people to death!"
well, i practice under the Shooto Association and I don't know too much about Vale's organization so I can't personally comment on it. But in general I've noticed that people do not have a very high opinion of it and the usual consensus is that Vale's fighters are consistently below the standard. A couple of people have also told me that Vale's system is not nearly as technical as the Shooto curriculum and that his fighters have a tendency to chase submission without enough regard for positioning, but that is also a usual criticism for Shoot stylists in general, although I do not see it as a problem among our guys.
I think Bart's fighting style is pretty sloppy. So how can that be taught without getting even sloppier. It may work for him on occasion, but it really isnt a style that you can teach as it is mostly a personal thing that he does when he fights.Students are mostly copying what he does, and it doesnt work for them. The techs should be taught and let the student find what he feels comfortable with as his personal style.Whether that is fast ,slow, tight or sloppy.jmpo.
