    Absolutley no way in hell Ali could have beaten Bruce in NHB. Bruce lee could send a 300 lbs bag hurling across the room, imagine that force put into a person. He accidently broke Chuck Norris's legs in a sparring match. Ye could send a guy 5 fett back with a 1 inch punch....1 INCH! Ali wouldn't last 5 mins.

    As for Lees death there has been many theries here are a few, Dim mak (death touch), drugs, overtraining. People even thought he didn't die and would come back as a sought of "masiah". The reason that I belve was. At the time Bruce was chewing Marajuana root as a relaxant. One day he went to a friends house, he had a head ache. She gave him some of her perscribed medicine, that had a reaction in his stomach causing a brain edema.

        ROTFLMFAO

        It is absolutely astounding to me how many DUMMIES think that a skinny UNPROVEN little guy like Bruce Lee could whip the greatest heavyweight boxer that ever lived.

        Bruce Lee was a STRIKER, with very limited grappling skills. There is no way he could even tickle Muhammed Ali with his punches or kicks. Ali NEVER was KO'd by anyone ... and he was hit by the hardest-hitting fighters ever ... Foreman, Shavers, Lyle, Frazier, Liston ... none of these men could KO Ali ... and they were 200+ lb PROFESSIONALS.

        Bruce Lee studied the ridiculous art of Wing Tsun, added REMEDIAL boxing to his arsenal ... and NEVER TESTED IT.

        I mean, aside from the ridiculous stories of him beating up some "old master" in the streets of China somewhere ... or some other UNPROVEN fighter ... who couldn't even get a boxing license, let alone achieve world-class status as Ali's opponents were ... WHO DID BRUCE LEE EVER BEAT???

        No one.

        And yet, you see numbskulls TO THIS DAY ready to say he would have beaten Ali! ... LMFAO

        Get real people!

        Has this forum degenerated so much that people STILL can't figure out that MOST of the martial arts in this world are complete hogwash? Because that's what Bruce was schooled in - primarily HOGWASH.

        Sure, Bruce had great ideals, and timeless principles, but he really was just beginning to discard the useless wing tsun for boxing ... and was just learning grappling ... when he died. But MOST of what he knew and was trained in was GARBAGE.

        AND he was a 145 lb welterweight to boot!

        So, LMAO, please don't tell me that this Asian FRED ETTISH would have had a snowball's chance in hell of defeating the greatest heavyweight fighter who ever lived.

        PLEASE!

        Thank you

          Pit Dog, it's pretty stupid to believe that such a 2 dimensional fighter as Ali could beat Bruce Lee. He was a great boxer, but boxers never do very well in NHB, and I'm talking about pure boxers, not kick boxers.
          I admit I haven't watched a lot of recent NHB stuff but I can remember one of those early UFC's where a boxer went up against a judo guy, got exhausted pretty quick, and when he ended up on the floor he was done.
          I believe bruce had more than just "limited" grappling skills. Maybe you didn't see much of it in his movies because grappling isn't very pretty.

            Ice Phoenix, I dont have a link for you but if any one else does I would like to see it. But some great things are. Bruce Lees Biography, Bruce Lee documentries, etc. Also try looking at Yahoo!

            As for Pit Dog. You obviously have no idea about Bruce Lee. He was very well rehearsed in grappling. And he studied Wing Chun not Wing Tsun. Also it wasn't just a combo of Boxing it was a bunch of thing that he put into a JKD frame of mind.

            You should read the Taao of Jeet Kune Do one day. Guess who thats written by....BRUCE LEE.

            Here is a list of just some of the styles I can remember. Wing Chun, Savate, Boxing, Wrestling, Choy Li Fut, Eagle Claw, Karate, Kickboxing, and I could go on. But Lee was in daily street fights from the age of 9.

            Ali took up Boxing coz his bike got stollen. I think people remember Ali because of his stand against war! not coz he was the best fighter.

              ROTFLMFAO II

              LOL, oh brother.

              I'm sorry children, but this is funny!

              MrPoopy said,
              "Pit Dog, it's pretty stupid to believe that such a 2 dimensional fighter as Ali could beat Bruce Lee.

              RESPONSE:
              No, actually, it is pretty stupid to think a 145 lb man who is UNPROVEN against ANY world-class fighter his size ... could beat the most proven fighting champion who ever lived ... and at 210 lb to boot ...

              MrPoopy said,
              "He was a great boxer, but boxers never do very well in NHB, and I'm talking about pure boxers, not kick boxers."

              RESPONSE:
              Bruce would have flopped in NHB too. I admit, Ali would not do well in TODAY'S NHB ... against large, PROVEN all-around competitors. But this wasn't Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was a SMALL UN-proven fighter. He never competed against ANYONE of note in a true professional fight. Yet people think he is this invincible God. LOLOL

              MrPoopy said,
              "I admit I haven't watched a lot of recent NHB stuff but I can remember one of those early UFC's where a boxer went up against a judo guy, got exhausted pretty quick, and when he ended up on the floor he was done."

              RESPONSE:
              LOLOL, that "boxer" was the nobody Art Jimerson, and that "judo guy" was Royce Gracie. You are comparing apples and oranges here. Jimmerson is a JOKE compared to Muhammad Ali as a boxer ... and Bruce Lee is a JOKE compared to Royce Gracie as a grappler. Therefore your point carries no weight.

              "I believe bruce had more than just "limited" grappling skills. Maybe you didn't see much of it in his movies because grappling isn't very pretty."

              RESPONSE:
              No, actually, Bruce got SQUASHED by Judo Gene LeBell. He then began incorporating grappling into his arsenal. The fact is, Bruce Lee was FAR from perfecting his art ... by modern-day standards ... his greatness comes from his IDEAS and PHILOSOPHY ... not from any kind of actual fighting prowess or accomplishement.

              "As for Pit Dog. You obviously have no idea about Bruce Lee. He was very well rehearsed in grappling."

              RESPONSE:
              Balderdash. You obviously have no idea of Bruce Lee. Name one field of grappling where Bruce Lee was ever a contender in? NONE. Bruce Lee was a "perpetual student" and philosopher. Always experimenting. But he never defeated ANY world-rated fighter in ANY kind of competiton whatsoever. So to try and elevate him into some absurd position of "unbeatable warrior" is absolutely ridiculous. He never defeated anyone of note.

              Fighter said,

              RESPONSE:
              LOL, again, he was expreimenting. He really had no idea of exactly where he was headed. He was open-minded and experimenting, trying to create and understand The Truth. But he sure as hell wasn't a world-class competitor. Again, he was more of a philosopher.

              Fighter said,
              "You should read the Taao of Jeet Kune Do one day. Guess who thats written by....BRUCE LEE."

              RESPONSE:
              ROTFLMFAO! So what? You should get your head out of books and get in the real world. Are you saying authoring a book = world class fighting prowess? Is everyone who writes a martial art book to be given an honorary Champinship? LMFAO

              Fighter said,
              "Here is a list of just some of the styles I can remember. Wing Chun, Savate, Boxing, Wrestling, Choy Li Fut, Eagle Claw, Karate, Kickboxing, and I could go on."

              RESPONSE:
              LOL, yes, I know. Bruce Lee STUDIED everything he could come into contact with ... but he was a master at NONE. The only two disciplines of worth on that list are boxing and wrestling. The rest are either total garbage or mediocre arts. And Lee was a NOVICE as a boxer and a wrestler ... and 145 lbs ... and you think he could whip the greatest heavyweight who ever lived?!! LMFAO

              Fighter said,
              "But Lee was in daily street fights from the age of 9."

              RESPONSE:
              ROTFLMFAO! If Lee was in fights every day of his life since he was 9, he must have been the biggest a$$hole who ever lived!!! I mean, think about what you are saying!!! There is no one on this earth who gets in fights every single day of their entire living life!!! LOLOLOL, wake up people ... this is all BS and just part of his "legend" ... it is not exactly factual ...

              Fighter said,
              "Ali took up Boxing coz his bike got stollen. I think people remember Ali because of his stand against war! not coz he was the best fighter."

              RESPONSE:
              LOLOLOLOL, you must be like 20 years old or something. You obviously know nothing about Ali. He was, and is, universally considered the greatest heavyweight boxer who ever lived. NO ONE faced ... and defeated ... better competition than Muhammad Ali.

              Take care!

                Pit Dog, I agree with many things you have said. I.e. most of today's martial arts being hogwash and Lee's overall "godlike" status in the minds of many martial artists today is a phalacy.

                However, a key element to this fight would be the the limitations of boxing. Boxers aren't used to elbows, groin kicks, biting, eye jabs or just dirty fighting in general. They're trained to create and spot openings and only use their fists.

                I'm not saying Lee would be the hands-down winner, but I think he would have a legitimate chance.

                  Ali was nothing more than a boxer. He was only good in a boxing ring. Just like a fencer is only good at fencing, and stupid people (like you) are only good at being stupid.
                  Ali could only prove himself against other boxers and old, asian wrestlers that were willing to take a fall for a dollar (Antonio Inoki). He was a sell out. Bruce was not.

                  And the UFC fight I was talking about did not have Royce Gracie in it. As we all know, Royce studied something called "Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu". I looked into it and it was Steve Jennum vs. Melton Bowen in UFC4. I guess I was wrong about him being a Judo guy. They have his style listed as Ninjitsu.

                  Nodody is claiming Bruce Lee is an invincible God. But I'm pretty sure that if he were still alive today, he'd stomp your ass into a mud puddle.

                    Pit Dog, I don't think I had the chance to welcome you back to the forum! Nice to read your posts again....lol!

                    It would be IMPOSSIBLE for BL to beat Ali in a boxing match. There is a tremendous difference in size, strength, weight and experience. BL would not be able to absorb the power of Ali and nor would he be able to hurt Ali with his punches. BL was said to have hit hard and I'm sure he did at 140 pounds. There's no way the punching power of ANY 140 pounder could come even close to that of ANY world champion heavyweight.

                    I'm not taking anything away from BL, but lets be realistic. Without stepping into the ring with a world class boxer it's hard fro some to get a true appreciation.

                    Take the world boxing champion at BL's weight and put him against the world heavyweight boxing champion. The heavyweight champ will ALWAYS win.

                    Anyone who disputes anything I said should get to a boxing gym and get in the ring with a GOOD pro boxer.

                    I've always been a fan of BL and always will be, even if I think he can't outbox Ali.

                      True, everyone has a chance ... I just don't think Lee would have a very good one ... he he he

                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                      Mr Poopy ... I see where you got your name ...
                      You said,
                      "Ali was nothing more than a boxer. He was only good in a boxing ring. Just like a fencer is only good at fencing, and stupid people (like you) are only good at being stupid."
                      RESPONSE:
                      LOLOL, you obviously are young and >ahem< inexperienced. Ali was never knocked out ... and he faced the hardest punchers in ring history. Now, whether that is in a ring or not, it translates to the fact Lee couldn't hurt him with punches. By contrast, Ali knocked out some of the biggest, baddest full-blown heavyweights in the world ... and so would have little trouble felling a tiny 145 lb man if (WHEN) he connected.
                      You said,
                      "Ali could only prove himself against other boxers and old, asian wrestlers that were willing to take a fall for a dollar (Antonio Inoki). He was a sell out. Bruce was not."
                      RESPONSE:
                      WTF does that have to do with anything. So Ali fought an exhibition, big deal. Are you saying he didn't KO George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Cleveland Williams, etc.? Ask yourself this ... who did Bruce Lee knock out? Answer: NOBODY.
                      You said,
                      "And the UFC fight I was talking about did not have Royce Gracie in it. As we all know, Royce studied something called 'Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.' I looked into it and it was Steve Jennum vs. Melton Bowen in UFC4. I guess I was wrong about him being a Judo guy. They have his style listed as Ninjitsu."
                      RESPONSE:
                      Well, again, Jennum is a modern-day cross-trained fighter ... and is Bowen's size ... and he still damned near got KO'd! I can truthfully promise you if Jennum was 145 lbs (instead of 210+) ... and if Bowen was Muhammed Ali (instead of a clubfighter) ... that Jennum would have gotten MURDERED in there ...
                      You said,
                      "Nodody is claiming Bruce Lee is an invincible God. But I'm pretty sure that if he were still alive today, he'd stomp your ass into a mud puddle."
                      RESPONSE:
                      ROTFLMAO! That was a very mature response young man ... he he ... Actually, though, I would take you up on that bet. I've boxed extensively and have trained in BJJ for 4 years ... and I outweigh Bruce Lee significantly. But, don't worry, I would ask for Bruce's autograph before I would knock him out ... LOLOLOL
