I think you were implying that the super-duper h2h2f2f2b instructor is such a living killing machine that he could never control himself enough to fight a professional fighter without reflexively ripping his opponent's heart out only to show it to him (and take a big bite out of it) before he died.

HEHEHE discussions with you can be SO fun....nah, my point is if you train with the intent to land on people with knees, step on feet, jam fingers into soft targets all while barraging them with chops, fists, knees and elbows etc. fighting like you're trying to stop 3 meth heads from raping your wife for instance. Then yeah, civil sportsmanlike behavior isnt your bag of tricks...im not saying you could never override this training but why the hell would i turn down my self defense capability to compete in a ring??? Survival arts use a different mindset and methods of training that are designed to kill or cripple, nothing less.

That all sounds fine. If you don't mind some broken fingers, I don't see where a professional fighter wouldn't agree to all those deadly terms.

Oh, but your guy would win (if he weren't too afraid of his deadly self to fight) 'cause he'd fight like he really, really means it.

to sell the longsword? to lessen my ability to defend myself and my family from a nut on the street? thats the thought process of a professional athlete, not a professional warrior.

And those are the words of a bullshit artist trying to sell theory as stone cold fact.

Where? If this wrecking machine could use his awesome (in theory) skills to beat the hell out of all the professional fighters active today he'd make many many millions of dollars.

But wait. Now we will hear that not only is it all about ripping the living heart out of the heroin addict who is slaying all the orphans in the burning building, but that it is also, bythewayweforgottoadd, far too great a matter of pride to sully the most awesome style of death, destruction, and human perfection to fight for money (eventhoughwedootherstuffformoneyandapparentlyhavenoproblemwiththat)

theory?? i have used my skills outside the ring to survive armed assaults, have you used your college wrestling to survive a knife assault?

Ask anyone who knows me about my fingers...they've all been grabbed, twisted, and broken, hung in clothing and broken...they kinda spiral but they all work just fine...cant say the same for the people i broke 'em on.
