Guarana Extract restores energy and improves athletic performance, stamina and endurance. It contains caffeine - a natural stimulant found in tea and coffee. Damn, you must have tons of $$$. The only supplements I have taken are protein and a mass gainer, I stay away from the the complicated expensive stuff for a couple of reasons.

    1. I asked my doctor what he thought about various stuff like creatine etc and he said a lot of the supplements haven't been tested for long-term effects, so it can be risky.

2.One of my co-workers of the gym told me about when he was taking creatine. He said the creatine DID work, but instead of his muscles feeling hard, they felt soft due to the water intake that creatine caused in the muscle tissue. Also, when he stopped taking the creatine, much of the extra muscle he put on drained away.

So that's just my point of view. I'm interested in how your creatine regiment turns out.

Joe, I did a report on that liquid creatine stuff - supposed to be the only stable liquid form, supposed to save your kidneys. I forgot what the source was, but it was credible, and said the something to the effect that the level of creatine in the crap is next to nothing. FDA does not regulate supplements, that means they can put on the label whatever the hell they want, so be carefull and watch your $$.

What Mushinmaster said. Watch what you buy and do not just go by what the producer states. It may be more expensive, but stick with big name products. Weider, Twin-lab, Met-RX, etc. The no-names do not have a reputation to maintain. Since they aren't regulated, they could just put sugar water in a bottle and sell it as the "magic bullet."

Since you've already decided to buy creatine, I say that's your prerogative if it doesn't dent your pocketbook too badly. Although liquid usually isn't a very economical way to do supplements.

Also, if you eat a lot of red meat, then you don't need to go crazy with it. Just do your homework before you buy, read up on the recommended usage, and don't forgot to record your progress with it.

This prompted me to write a few things about nutrition and supplements which you can check out in the fitness forum

hey joe..my moms a doctor and my step-dads a pharmacist and they both say cretine is very beneficial, just dont take more than the product says...i.e if it says 1 cup a day then taking more is not going to do any good....careful what cretine you buy because it does make you retain some water....do you do your weight training and do your MT on the same day? if so then you do not need creatine both times, during your MT workout (or while lifting...pick one) drink as much gatorade as possible and eat something with lots of carbs afterwards (or maybe protein i forget) anyway below is a breakdown of my schedule...no MT class yet since i dont start til november 20th...i dont know if you will want this or not or if its benefital for martial artist but I compete in a lot of triathalons so it works for me....oh i also have time to do all this because i quit my job to attend grad school. anyway posted it because i have been doing for years and it has worked great for my bad ass!
