Check out www.martialresource.com It does a good job of breaking down each style and gives you an idea of what to expect from each.

I would suggest you look into Judo. It's pretty common and is excellent training until you can find something more geared towards self defense.

You should really talk this over with your parents. Provided you are actually 13.

you should try judo.. it's fun and it gives you strenth.. someone underestimating you will be suprised when they are flipped over on the ground by your little ass.. lol

in reality combat.. sex doesn't matter.. if someone is gonna hurt you they are.. trust me on that one.. i wasn't a complete angel when i was doing a few bad things..

kicking a man isn't a good idea if u are not strong or skilled..unless your aiming for the balls. grappling, judo, strikes to sensitive points is the best thing to do..

lots of girls i know take boxing.. thats real cool..

I've been researching stuff, and I think if I quit TKD I'll go into either Muay Thai or Krav Maga...they both look effective and good for real-life situations...I'm leaning a bit towards Krav Maga...dunno, I'll have to go and watch a few classes...anyone know of a Muay Thai school near Norfolk in Virginia?

I can understand you getting pissed off about little kids being awarded rank just because they show up. You can trust me when I say that would never happen in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I've been doing it for over a year and I'm still a white belt. Probly won't move up to the next level for a long time to come. People don't get rank in BJJ for paying or for showing up. It's only earned. No skill, no rank.

I don't agree with the comment about seperating kids from the adults. If the school isn't that big, there's no reason to seperate them. When there are kids in my class they just roll with other kids. It's no big deal.

This reminds me of a great episode of Seinfield, where Kramer takes karate

It's hilarious. Kramer goes to class with a bunch of kids and he's beating them up every class. At the end, they all gang up on him for some payback!

It makes me think of the English....
