If you attampt to resist something and that thing is bigger and stronger than you what will happen?? You will Loose. simple. Tai chi teaches you not to resist. It shows you that resisting is not necisary
I can see it now. Women everywhere taking tai chi as self defense against sexual predators.
Cop:So madam, why didn't you fight back against your attacker when he raped you.
Woman:Oh I take Tai Chi, we were taught not to resist, it isn't necesary.

I've always wanted to take Tai Chi, the simple movements and medditation seems like a good relaxing exercise... I haven't studied it yet because here in america there's alot of bullshit instructers who think there all that and will tell you anything to get an extra dollar in there pocket.. They only MA I study know are kickboxing and BJJ, they've both been proven to be very effective in MMA and NHB...

If I ever studied Tai Chi I don't belive I'd ever use it in a real fight though, they only type of MA I'd ever use would be thoughs that's actually been proven to be good.. If you ever watch UFC you almost never see anyone go in there just doing strait up Tai Chi.. And it's the same thing over in Pride (witch takes place in japan)..

Tai Chi seems more like a way of life then a MA that shows you how to kick someones ass....

But that's just one mans thoughts on it tough

I like how you people use UFC as a means to show what "real fighting" is about. Ha.

I like how we have yet to see any Tai Chi practitioners in any MMA tournaments and win. Ha!

              they do win

There are many tournaments in which the Tai Chi practitioner wins. Sadly they are only aired in china. Thats all i can say.

Well if you hold a tai chi only tournament the winner is of course always going ot be a tai chi practitioner . But I'm sorry to say I cannot believe it(a taichi practitioner crushing other martial arts) until I've seen it with my own eyes.

Wait a minute. Your proof is that your friends are pussies? Not sure that holds water.

I'm sorry but that's a really shitty argument. I could easily say that my martial art is TaeKwonDo and that all the third graders I beat up did Kick boxing, therefore TaeKwonDo works.
