  • Kluten,
I couldn't bring myself to read all 8 pages of posts, but if you're looking for military style H2H training, I might suggest Krav Maga or some of the courses form the Hochhiem Group: www.hockscqc.com. I do believe Hock has some courses specifically for the military. I know he has been brought in as an instructor for the US military before and is ex-Army himself.
    Hope this helps.

    • Kingston,
I like RBSD, but I'm not a 'RBSD guy.' I respect a couple approaches, and I understand that there is more than one way of doing things. However, I am anti-bullshit, and a lot of what I hear from Systema people is just that. I don't like it no matter where it comes from. Nobody and nothing is the be all and end all. A lot of people don't seem to understand this.

      Niko,
      I wrote,
As for Vlad, I've never met him, met his people, or seen what he can do. I'm sure that he's an excellent practitioner and teacher(that's what I've heard), but I would not list him as a top resource for self-defense. That's my personal opinion, and nothing more. Don't get your panties up in a twist over it,
"Don't get your panties up in a twist over it." Take the advice, and in addition, remove yourself from Vlad's nuts (a problem that a number of mindless dolts I've spoken to seem to have).

      I say again,
Niko, stop playing PR guy and contribute something useful, or you will have to leave.

I like Vunak. I think that others have moved beyond him, but he's still very solid (I don't like the destructions he does--or triest to do--but I would train with him if I ever got the chance). So is Geoff Thompson. I'm not much of a fan of Tony Blauer, but his stuff isn't bad (SPEAR has major flaws, though it has saved lives and many LEOs stand by it).

I've never even heard of those other two guys.

I'm interested to hear what your perspective is on the SPEAR - specifically the 'flaws' you mention?
