Alright, now you guys are just insulting each other. I think everyone needs to not take Joe so seriously. He may seem insulting, but it seems to me that it's just his way of adding a little flavor to the forum. He actually brings up good points once you learn to ignore his abrasiveness.

I think there is actually a really good debate somewhere in this thread, so please don't drag it down any further.

Sorry to ruin your thread. But take note: I'm not the one going on and on about what a moron Joe is. And what makes you think I take him seriously? I think I've made it clear that I don't; not anymore.

As for your topic: well, I already gave you my opinion. I think teaching your friend is a good thing. If you give her one lesson, you may have given her something invaluable which may save her life someday. If not, well, so you waste an hour of your time. So what? If she is sincere, you will know it. Trust your own judgment, not Joe Manco's.

But seriously, what besides the guard is going to help a woman on the ground? Patterson actually said something insightful a few months ago - that slapping a triangle or armbar on the guy while he tries to "whip it out" in the guard is a viable option.
